We booked this apartment last year but were unable to go as flights were cancelled.
To try and be fair (big mistake) when we rearranged the flights instead of taking advantage of the free cancellation for the apartment we changed the dates of the stay and paid extra to keep the free cancellation. Both times they were very quick to take the 50% deposit.
Unfortunately with our flights cancelled again for this coming April we had to cancel the booking for the apartment.
This we did over 4 weeks ago not only through booking.com but also by direct contact to the Quinta Miramar. They ignored every one of our requests.
Fortunately booking.com then took over our request. The Miramar apparently were unable to give any reason as to why they would not honour the free cancellation and process our refund.
Booking.com have obtained this and I cannot praise them enough for their help.
Needles to say we will not be staying at the Miramar on our trip (hopefully) to Madeirs next year.More
