We traveled to Madeira in late November and wanted a suitable base to venture to and from.
Quinta Casa Branca was perfectly situated on the map....located West of downtown Funchal and walking distance to the coastal road along the Lido and numerous restaurants.
We”d arranged an Inspiration Package at QCB, so our driver was waiting at the airport to whisk us to the Hotel in fine style.
We were greeted warmly at the reception and shown to our Suite 001 in the more formal Manor House.
You’re immediately struck by the beauty of the grounds and the amazing landscaping. The variety of plant species, many of them flowering, and the mature size of the plants and trees was outstanding.
Our room was very spacious with four large floor to ceiling windows on three walls that opened up to the grounds overlooking the adult swimming pool. There was also a separate large privacy patio offering two lounging chaises and a similar view.
Our room was already adorned by a beautiful flower arrangement indicative of Madeira, bottled waters, a book on Madeira Flowers and our fruit of the day...a giant mango....all part of the Inspiration Package.
We spent a lovely six nights and enjoyed the surroundings including the exercise room and sauna, the morning breakfast buffet that included table service for cooked eggs, omelets or pancakes (excellent) and a self serve buffet of amazing fruit and assorted items (the biggest disappointment here being the dryness of the cakes and muffins and the lack of pastel de nata except on one day).
We were impressed by the friendliness of the service provided and most impressed by the garden like setting hidden away within the proximity of the city. The Monte Palace Gardens in Funchal paled in comparison.
Our Inspiration Package also included an all day guided 4x4 off road tour of the island as well as an expertly packed box of indigenous cut flowers to bring back to London and a new fruit delivered for each of our nights stay.

A magical Island and a Magical Stay.

A fine and genuine welcome awaits. The service was slick and excellent without being intrusive.
This must be the most relaxing place in Funchal.
We were walking some levadas and some peaks .At the end of the day we enjoyed the fine dining in the restaurant .
We were not looking for a busy nightlife. If you want busy bars etc then this place is not for you.
We met many guests who had stayed at the hotel before.
I certainly would next time I visit Madeira

Lovely hotel with friendly and helpful staff, set in in wonderful gardens. Convenient for walking into or getting the bus/taxi into Funchal centre. In addition to the hotel itself, there are several good restaurants nearby.

We stayed at the hotel for a week on a half board basis and had a wonderful time. The staff are very friendly and attentive, and went out their way to make our stay perfect.

Food and drink wise; the set dinner menu was varied and excellent, the breakfast offering had a large variety of both hot and cold items, and there was a good lunch selection if you did not want to venture out. Wine recommendations paired well with the meals and there was also a bar happy hour. Welcome drinks and nibbles on the Tuesday was also a nice touch.

We found this resort through the travel agent in jet2 Indulgent Escapes it was exactly as discribed. The only downside was we had a aircraft problem and had to change planes which made it late getting to the Resort. We had a private taxi from the Airport all laid on by Jet2 to the resort and was greeted by the staff at reception booked in and shown to our room that was overlooking the gardens. Went to the bar for happy hour drinks then back to unpack. Next day we had a bueatiful breakfast in the Terra restaurant you could have a cooked option off the menu or from the buffet all was excellent food and well prepared local, international, french cuisine, the staff were first class. We had a walk around the bueatiful gardens and looked at the old Manor house everywhere was well maintained and looked after. The resort had two library's, Health club, Jaczzi, Sauna and steam room and a outside pool heated. The rooms were cleaned Etc: everyday. The bar restaurant served excellent food, and the manor house had the Alacarte menu's. You are about 30minutes walking from the sea front area,s which has plenty of restaurants along the way. There is a moden shopping centre, Cathedral and a Market. ther are city friendly tours in the TUK TUK which are very popular. The whole week was an amasing holiday and a excellent resort and staff.
