There were 6 of us staying 6 nights in 3 rooms. Four of us arrived before the official check in time, but were given our rooms on the 10th floor. The staff at the front desk was friendly and helpful. Because of the taxi strike, we wound up taking the Aero Bus to a stop 3 blocks from the hotel - very convenient given the circumstances. The room, bed, and pillows were comfortable. The shades are electric, and effectively kept light out in the morning. The bathroom had a tub with two shower options - a hand wand and a large diameter rain shower type head. The glass partition covered only part of the tub, so it was not possible to keep some water from spilling out while showering. There were two basins, and a separate area for the toilet and bidet. Our rate included a large bottle of water every day, and the contents of the mini bar - 2 small beers, 2 bottles of water, 2 cokes and some sweets were free every day. Breakfast was pretty much a feast. The seating area was large, and there was always a good crowd there. The only option not available was an omelette station. There was a variety of drink options, and special coffee requests were taken care of. The staff was friendly and on the lookout to serve you. We took advantage of the concierge desk on several occasions....There were 6 of us staying 6 nights in 3 rooms. We took advantage of the concierge desk on several occasions. They printed our bus tickets to Fatima and the admission tickets to the palaces in Sintra. In fact, one of the requests occurred just after midnight when Isabel was still at the desk after her shift was over and she was wrapping up some last minute tasks. She did not hesitate to help out. Joana was the other young lady who helped out on more than one occasion during daylight hours. My daughter's foot swelled up one day and had to stay in the room to ice her foot. She ordered room service for lunch. The cost was reasonable and the food very good. Since the strike was still on, we used the hotel's transfer service to take all 6 of us to the bus station. The car was clean, comfortable, and the driver, a young man from Portugal, spoke excellent English. Four in our group enjoyed the roof level bar. The hotel is in a quiet area which is nevertheless close to bus stops and metro stations for two different lines.
We easily walked to the Rossio station from here. To help with the swelling, there was a pharmacy nearby where we were able to get a cold pack and an ointment to help reduce the swelling (it was very effective).More
