Stayed here for a week after a long drive down from the UK and it was absolutely ideal.

Really good quality accommodation, kept very clean by attentive staff. Nice quiet site with all the facilities you could need available on-site. Even we (in our 60s) found it an easy and pleasant walk into town or down to the coast.

We will return.

We were looking for somewhere to go on holiday for the first time with our 22-month-old and we couldn't have picked a better place. Our one-bedroom villa was spacious, clean and ideal for eating in at night when our daughter was asleep. The play area kept her entertained when we were not out in the centre of Cascais and she was just as happy running round on the lawns that back on to the villas. The on-site restaurant is outstanding and all the staff at Vila Bicuda were friendly, kind and helpful. Wouldn't hesitate to book again.

This is a difficult review to write. On the one hand, the accommodation is great (if a little tired), extremely spacious and immaculately clean. On the other, we felt a bit misled by the hotels own website which states Cascais Marina is "at walking distance" and Guincho beach is "right near". This is just not the case for most people. If you are a family with young children or are in any way unfit, you will not be able to manage the walk to and from town; its downhill all the way there and uphill back, at least 2 miles in each direction. Why no courtesy bus to town? We had no hire car, deliberately, but to make the most of the area you do need one. Also, pool towels had to be paid for, every 24hrs. I don't think I have ever stayed at a 4* hotel which does not include towels and does not provide a courtesy bus. We also found the reception staff pretty unhelpful when it came to exploring the area; they wanted us to take taxis everywhere whereas we wanted to use the local bus service. The hotel had no idea of bus timetables.
However, there is a good restaurant on site (independent of the hotel), and a great cafe open 8-8 which serves the fabulous pastries for which the area is renowned. And we absolutely loved the entire area and will go back. Whether we will go to Vila Bicuda depends on what else is available in our budget!

Dear Guest,

First of all, we would like to thank you for your comment regarding your stay in our resort and Vila Bicuda Resort in itself.

Regarding the transportation from Vila Bicuda to most places, it is really a particular situation and the best is, if you did not rent a car, to take a taxi as the buses are more expensive than the taxis and usually only pass once in an hour here in our street. Said that, that is why my colleagues from the reception always sent you by taxi to everywhere and not by bus.

Apart from that, we hope you enjoyed the time that you spent with us and we also hope you can come again. If by then, we can help you with anything, just let us know. Renting a car, for example, is something we can help you with before you come or when you are already here.

We are at your entire disposal.

We booked Villa Bicuda online and were really happy when we arrived at the resort and found that the villa was as lovely as it looked online.

The villa was spacious and modern and in excellent condition. We were a family of 6, granny and grandad, two children and us.

There were plenty of bathrooms for 6 and plenty of seating for relaxing and eating inside and out.

The villas were spotless and cleaned every day.

Our villa opened out on to a lovely lawn which then led to one of the large pool areas. The pool and surrounds were beautifully cleaned and cared for along with plenty of sun beds for relaxing along with a poolside changing room and showers if required. We took advantage of these on the last day after we'd checked out of the villa, but continued to use the pool before journeying to the airport.

The complex is very quiet and has a great, reasonably priced supermarket, selling everything you can think of. There is also a wonderful patisserie and bakery on site, you will not be able to resist the cakes! There is also a restaurant which we visited one evening. Despite being very quiet service was a bit slow, but the food was lovely.

The staff on reception were very helpful and were happy to order taxis for us in to town every night, and let us have towels to use after we had checked out.

I would recommend for a family holiday.

Family group attending wedding nearby. We found the apartments and studios spacious ,clean and comfortable. Although the beds were to soft for some .
Garden grounds and pool kept very clean and tidy, with plenty of sun beds .Pool towels available to hire which were of an excellant quality.
Patisserie , mini market ,and laundry facilities excellant. No need to travel outside resort for shopping, which was a 20 mins walk away. Taxi to Cascais only 5 or 6 euros .
Family enjoyed resort so much ,that they want to go again.!

Room Tip: 3 bedroom apartments have garden ground ,making them safe for young children.
