Totally recommend the hotel for it’s location... it’s walking distance from everything you would want to see in viseu.. we were there for just one night.. and hence the location helped us see a lot.
The rooms are comfortable.. the common areas seem a little dated.. but the staff is great and really helpful.
I would recommed this quaint hotel

Dear Kavzchat,

Thank you so much for your kind words regarding our team and your overall experience.
The common areas might seem a bit dated but that’s part of the charisma of Hotel Grão Vasco that is classified by the Portuguese Tourism Authorities as an “Historic Hotel”.
Nevertheless, we try to mix some modern pieces with the old ones to create a nice and comfortable ambience.
We hope to have you with us anytime soon!

We were traveling to oporto from madrid and wanted to do a stop so as not to arrive too late.

We loved the hotel, though common areas seem a bit old, the room was quite modern and confortable.

What we liked the most was the breakfast!

It is also very well located, a couple of minutes (walking) away from the historical center.

Enjoyed that this hotel was in the border of old town and a lovely square. Rooms are small but have a small verandah to stand on. Good breakfast. Only real negative was lumpy mattress and very flat pillows with no comfort and I think a latex mattress that sweats.

The one good thing about this place is the restaurant "Jantar" for dinner. Great portion sizes. We tried the Salmon and the Feijoida with white beans and Gambas or prawns with rice. The seafood "Sopa we marisco" was good as well. Along with a bottle of house wine, the meal cost us 32 euro. The breakfast, especially if you are a fan of warm breakfasts, is terrible, to say least. The only warm options were scrambled egg and bacon. The rooms are ok. The airconditioning q

Lovely, comfortable hotel, close to everything, indoor pool, and outdoor pool nice staff, good breakfast, comfy beds. We walked across the street to a beautiful woodland park and a church, and then to nearby shopping. Nice experience. We would stay here again.
