The hotel is very beautiful and romantic. We stayed for 2 nights in February and it was very comfortable. The piscine it is nice and I recommend avoid the end of afternoon. Near lunch we have the piscine for us!! In fact, the hotel is perfect during week not so good in weekend. When it is full the service is a little confuse, namely the breakfast.More
Nothing could be faulted. The room and service outstanding. The meal in the restaurant was even better. We had a fresh vegetable entree. What the chef created with that was extraordinarily good. Other meals were just as good. The grounds are beautiful to walk around, and the location just over the river from the old town was also good. Definitely stay here!

We stayed for 2 nights in late October and we were fortunate enough to be upgraded to a suite which was excellent. Our suite was in the new building with views to the expansive gardens. We dined in-house one night and the meal and service was very good. Buffet breakfast was also very good. Grounds at this hotel are lovely. Staff were both friendly and helpful.

Perfect stay in less than 24 hours. Knowledgeable staff welcomes you and provides all the information you need for your stay in Coimbra. Places to visit and eat about town. The room was in the palace, extremely well located, spacious, with all the amenities you might need. In the Bamboo Garden SPA we had a wonderful massage for two with the right ambiance music and perfumes. Next was a free welcome drink in the Bar and a gourmet dinner to remember in the Arcadas Restaurant. In the morning an excellent buffet breakfast and , last but not least, a visit to the romantic gardens. Just Beautiful.

This hotel has the most beautiful gardens I have seen in a Hotel, the staff is super nice and the decor makes you feel in another century with style, the rooms are nice, my only complain will be the smell on the bathrooms , it seems there is a problem with the water on the property , besides that its a great experience and the food is very good

Huge gardens
Peaceful & quiet
Cons:
Not in the city centre - about 20 mins walk
Not many restaurants and shops near by. However it is within walking distance to Restaurante Piscinas do Mondego, which was good.
