Comfortable rooms in a great location this hotel had a lot of character with friendly helpful English speaking staff. The restaurant was good and there was a wide choice of food a5 breakfast, with a good selection of cooked food. There is an excellent piano in the reception area which was beautifully played the morning of our stay, which added to the ambience of the hotel.

Thank you for your wonderful review, Lesley!
It's always a pleasure for us as well to hear the piano being played, it's like our own guests are bringing back the times when the building was a music school. We're very glad to hear you had fun and enjoyed your stay. We hope to see you again in a near future!

The service at the hotel was exceptional. Friendly front desk staff and breakfast dining room staff made the stay very pleasurable. Very good selection at breakfast. The room was attractive, very comfortable and recently updated. Being at a very central location was so convenient, allowed us to walk to the waterfront for some great meals and strolling.

Did not have occasion to use the pool, but it was sparkling and inviting. Other guests seemed to be enjoying it.
Loved the combination of Old World charm and modern conveniences like good strong air conditioning.

The hotel lobby is made of volcanic rock and has great ambience. The rooms are well appointed and spacious and the staff are so friendly. The restaurant serves a great breakfast with many food options. What was so disappointing was the pool. It was dirty and really cold. My daughter look so forward to swimming at the end of the day and did not want to go into the pool.

Thank you for your review!
We're glad you liked the ambiance and our twist on the historical building. As for the pool, we're sorry you didn't get to enjoy it. We had the chance to warm it up but, since it's an outside pool, a lot of heat would be lost and the energetic waste would be very high. Since we have a green policy, we eventually decided to keep it at natural temperature. We still clean it frequently, specially now that we have some construction work happening next door.
We hope to see you again in a near future and to be able to show you some improvements!

I stayed for a week in one of the superior rooms, overlooking the courtyard and pool. My room consisted of a siting room with sofa, coffee table, mini bar and tv, a bedroom with another tv and a full bathroom (inc Hairdryer). I found my room to be quiet and peaceful, with only the occasional splash from the pool to disturb the peace.
The room had a safe and you can get the lock barrel from reception at no extra charge.
I would have liked to have had access to tea/coffee making facilities and would have been willing to pay extra for this. Also, shutting the door when exiting the room could be tricky, I found that if I used the card to 'unlock' the door and held down the outer handle I could then close the door and it locked when the handle was released.
There is a small supermarket at the top of the street (opposite the church) which stocks drinks snacks etc.

Room tip: The superior rooms are in the newer part of the building.

… in that this hotel has all the charm and intrigue of the historic building, beautifully appointed with an excellent eye for design, yet it has the advantages and comfort of a modern hotel. Breakfast and dinner in the hotel’s restaurant were not at all disappointing either!
