Charming, peaceful and well equipped little house on the edge of town - but only a short walk away from the marina. Patricia super helpful - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
This was a lovely quiet week in the Adega do Mirante. It's well equipped and has good wifi and many television channels should you need them. This was February so the evenings could be long.
We were very near the town centre and a short walk from the bakery, shops and beach. I've been to Horta many times on yachts but this was the first time I could explore the beautiful island. A 2 hour bus ride around Faial is only €3.60 and car hire is cheap which gave us access to the Caldiera and other interesting places. Cafe Sport seems the same as always and Porto Pim has a sandy beach and cafes and restaurants and is where the very interesting whaling museum is. Pico looms over all and a ferry trip to Madelena is only about €3.75.
We loved it and would come again.
We enjoyed our stay here. The island is very beautiful and we found that coming back to the cottage in the evening was lovely. It was just a short walk to Peters Bar where we met up with our friends that were also sailing to Rotterdam with us. The cottage met our expectations and was comfortable as a base for a few days. Pity the weather was not too brilliant, but Faial is an island in the middle of the Atlantic after all!
