* We stayed for 3 nights, everytime we entered the reception, there was nobody sitting at the reception desk.
Most of the time we didn't need anyone, but it feels strange that in the middle of the day there's no one there to greet you.
When we needed someone, someone would (eventually) show up. But in a 'boutique' hotel I think there should be someone at all times sitting there and greeting guests.
That makes people feel welcome.
* The room was ok, but nothing more than that. It was clean, but the bed was hard (uncomfortable).
The shower door opened to the inside of the shower (which is really weird, and unpractical).
We everyday only received one toilet paper roll. We survived every day (barely, because we were out most of the time), but what does it cost to leave 2 toilet paper rolls in a room, so that you know you will have enough. Are you that scared that people will steal a toilet paper roll? It makes guests feel as if you don't trust them.
* The breakfast was the most terrible part of our stay. Stucking away in a basement, without windows and ventilation. It was a terrible room to have breakfast at, especially when you're trying to enjoy the (last) sun. Then as soon as you sit down you receive a tray with all kinds of stuff that most people probably don't finish, or want. It feels like you're in prison, or at least that you're being punished and have to eat something disgusting.
There were no eggs, or anything warm.
Not sure if this is this way because of Covid, but even if it is due to covid you can make it better than this.
There's plenty of space in the garden by the swimming pool to have a nice breakfast-yard at.
Also, if it's served on a tray because of Covid, then why does everyone needs to touch the same coffee machine? Nothing about the breakfast makes any sense. It was a real disappointment.
We would not recommend staying at Mareta beach to anyone, I will also write a Tripadvisor review, because I do believe that people need to understand what they are booking, but I first wanted to let you know how we felt about our stay.
Maybe you can change a few small things, to make it a lot better:
- provide towels at the swimming pool
- provide a minimum of 2 toilet paper rolls in the room, just so that guests feel comfortable enough.
- change the shower doors (so that they open to the outside)
- change breakfast, not only the products, but mostly the place and manner of serving.
