A nice and quiet tea house that serves great value for money meals with a good serving side. There is a good range of food offering to cater to our craving. The foods were served warm and exceeds all expectations. The service was impeccable.

We really enjoyed our stay at Albergaria do Lageado. The room was spacious, A/C, minimal bathroom amenities. Beautiful hillside property with a nice pool. Near to the spa, they give a small discount to use the pool. Breakfast is lots of nice bread, cold cuts, cereals, filter coffee and hot milk. Friendly, home like service. We will definitely return here if we are in the area.

We fancied a trip away from the main coastal resorts and headed for Monchique and stopped at Caldas da Monchique on the way.
After a little walk round we went into the hotel for a bite to eat.
The toasted sandwiches ( Ham and cheese and cheese on its own) were delicious and the galao (Latte) was also very good. The staff were also very pleasant.
Just a note: the prices if you wanted to stay at the hotel were also extremely reasonable

Turned up after a long walk with no reservation. Owner set up another table just for us. Full plate of monkfish rice and a Portuguese steak with puddings and a couple of glasses of wine all for just under 30 euros. Really enjoyed it and a lovely setting too.

This might just be most idyllic place I've ever stayed! Set in the most perfectly picturesque village in the hills, it looks average from the exterior. Once inside the hotel is quaint and vintage style. We were greeted by name at reception which was a nice touch. Check in was smooth. Our room was lovely, comfortable and spotlessly clean. There was also a bottle of fresh water in the room which was nice. The room opened onto a spacious balcony overlooking the centre of the village.
Breakfast was nice, with a good choice of offerings.
The absolute best feature of this hotel is the garden pool. Set up at the back of the terraced garden behind the hotel, surrounded by trees and greenery and flowers is the perfect moderate sized pool with a range of loungers. The area is perfect for hiking or relaxing and you wont go wrong staying here.

Room tip: Get one with a balcony.
