Located halfway up Monchique near Caldo de Monchique on the main road, you can see the entrance by the way of an impressive waterfall, climbing up the toward the entrance you will find the original impressive house that is seeped in history along with many eclectic artifact and antique as well as many everyday curious. The park is a mix of many things from animals Ponies, Donkeys, & Pot bellied pigs to vintage cars. there is a basement museum showing how the Distilled liquor madronho 'Fire Water' is made. the park s ideal for families or just couple,s you do come away and feel you have learnt something which most places don't offer. There is a cafe where you can get a snack and drink and the place hold large venues. If you are looking for something a little bit different and also want to know a little about the Algarve then this is the place to be there is a good guide on offer who can tell you everything you need to know about all the displays on show. Good value for money as there is not time limit as to how long you stay and you can take your own picnic which I would recommend to make the day a little more special.

Pargue da Mina, give yourself a one hour walk around the old Farmhouse, set out with original furniture and dummies dressed in original clothing. All done with a guide speaking your own language. Visit the cafe/bar for refreshment, then wander around the enclosed paddocks with many birds inside them. All in all a good half day experience.

We visited here for around four hours on a hot August morning. The place was incredibly quiet considering that it was holiday season and so it was lovely and peaceful, an ideal change from the busy tourist areas of the Algarve. It cost us €26 to get in, so not cheap, but our 3 and 5 year olds thoroughly enjoyed it.

We took the tour of the house which lasted an hour and was very informative and interesting. The guide was knowledgeable and funny. There was a small play area for the kids and they also enjoyed the mirror maze and animal feeding. The views of the surrounding mountains are wonderful, a very different side to the Algarve. We found the staff to be very pleasant and helpful, I'd recommend this place if you're looking for something a bit different to do whilst in the area.

Don't come here expecting too much, and enjoy a peaceful stroll around this interesting property.

We spent a few hours here with our 2 year old daughter who enjoyed the various things on offer.

There seems to be little else to do up in the Monchique area and for €10 this is worthwhile if you are in the area.
