We have been to Loulé several times but had not spotted this cafe before. We were made to feel very welcome. We were a party of 8 including two children. Our orders were varied. The adults had Mozambique chicken curry. The vegetarians had quiche. The children had a cheese and ham sandwich and cheese toastie. It is liscenced so there was wine and the cakes and coffee were excellent. The ambience was lovely. It was quite a cold day, and the staff produced a lovely rug for our underdressed granddaughter! It is very near the Castle, and we can strongly recommend this cafe. The staff spoke excellent English. It is small and we found it by chance. A few tables only but I did not ask if you can book. I took a card. The phone is 289 414 310. It was the highlight of our day in Loulé. It was lunchtime. I do not know opening hours but I imagine people go in for a snack or more after visiting castle which is about 100 yds away.

It was the day of the Carnaval parade, it had just ended, they were invaded by many visitors, not all familiar with the surroundings. The waiters all wearing funky coloured glasses, acted professionally in directing clients to seats and taking orders and delivering the goods. It was pleasant for coffee and natas, and when we return on a quieter day, we will come again.

Visited with children and 1yr old grandchild for lunch, excellent chefs special salad, and Greek mezze followed by delicious cakes. The staff who were Portuguese South African were all friendly and extremely helpful, be careful if you have a cute baby with you though they get undue customer care :-).
There was a really relaxed feel to the place with some background jazz standards. The courtyard is pleasant with flowers for shading.

Café Q. now a vibrant, urban Café / Bistro, open from 8:30AM to 7:30 PM, serving delicious cakes and exotic dishes, Vegan wine and Gluten Free, artisan wine from Dão region, Lavazza coffee, jazz sounds... and the courtyard is just so inviting... For the next month Songstress extraordinaire Kiki Lee is there to burst into song without notice, you could be spoiled with a number from Edith Piaf or Frank Sinatra... make sure you pay a visit on your next trip downtown historical Loulé!!
