it is 20 minutes far from the train station by walk, and hostel has a really good location 5 munites to beach 2 munites to main square. staff is nice and helpful, they dont charge for the lockers. cleaning was not perfect but it was okey and you can use the kitchen. dont forget your air plugs because the street of the hostel really loud during the night. you will fall in love with lagos!

We spent two nights at the hostel and we really enjoyed. The location is really nice, really close to the bars and the beach! The place is clean (but keep in mind that it's a hostel!) and the share kitchen is really nice! We had a room for 4 and the room was clean. The only thing is the breakfast is not good, you should probably buy some food and make your own!

The HI Youth Hostel in Lagos is an affordable option. It is centrally located near the center of town and walking distance to the bus station. It has 4 bed dorms with lockers. There is a large continental breakfast. The self-catering kitchen is large and there are 2 refrigerators. I bought fresh fish for 2 euros each morning from the fish market and cooked it in the kitchen. The Spar supermarket and Batata town beach is a few minutes away. The WiFi signal is good downstairs. This is an affordable place to stay when enjoying Lagos and the Algarve.

Compared to the other hostels (for about the same price) that we stayed at in Porto, sintra, ericeira, lisabon and faro this one was the worst but it was still good. The breakfast is very nice with yogurt, cereals, bread, ham and cheese, different kinds of teas, hot chocolate and coffe. The dorms are great as there are only 4 people in each. They have a nice outdoor common area that closes at midnight. I like that they have a 24 hour man at the door and that you have to name your room number and/or name when you come back at night. It feels safer that way. The bathrooms are fine, but the paper towels are always empty at night at morning and the toilets smell a bit. I suppose it's due to that you can't throw the toiletpaper in the toilet and that they don't seem to empty the toiletpaper baskets more than once a day. At night you will need a pair of earplugs to keep the party noise out. It's located close to the bar and restaursnt street so it is inevitable that it's noisy. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to the beach, 20 to the bus station and about 20 to the train station. We didn't use the kitchen but it looked alright. The interior of the hostel is fine but booring. No style and it feels a bit worn out. The wardrobes are a bit smelly but it is nice that you get a key for it so you can lock your things inside it if you'd like.

The staff were always helpful and smiling. Nice that we got to leave our luggage at the hotel before checkin and after checkout.

It definitely has a good value for money, good breakfast and good location. It's not fancy or stylish as some of the other hostels we stayed at but it's functional and practical.
