Our family of 4 stayed here for 3 nights. (Our children are 14 and 12). We found the size for 4 people just fine and appreciated that the two bedrooms were separated by a long hallway for privacy. The kitchen and bathroom were small but modern. The Wi Fi only worked in the front of the apartment, so my kids took over the master bedroom to use their phones. The building is old and beautiful and has high ceilings and lovely old fixtures. Since it's on the first floor, there was plenty of ventilation between windows and A/C.
What could have been better is that the bedding seemed old and run down, the mattresses were not comfortable (and the master bed was small) and the place didn't seem that clean-- the tile floors were filthy, so after a shower, I would put on socks so that I didn't have to walk on the tiles. Also, the location was great for Faro-- a block from the old walled city and two blocks from the Marina, but the fact is that Faro is a boring town with nothing to do and planes constantly flying overheard. I don't think it's the best place to stay in the Algarve. There were fewer tourists there, but there's also not much to do.
Sylvie was delightful and helpful-- really a lovely person. We were able to do laundry around the corner and used the grocery store around the corner too for picnics.
We stayed in this apartment for a few nights during the Easter holidays. It was a lovely spot to access the old city in Faro and convienient for day trips around the Algarve.
Owners were amazing at meeting us after hugely delayed flights and were warm and welcoming. We were provided with everything we needed to get settled and the apartment has everything one needs.
Beds were comfortable and the area is quiet and we slept so well after long days playing tourist!
This really is an ideal location to see the Algarve from and a little less tourist crazy than some other cities like Lagos!
We stayed in Faro for 4 nights. The apartment was ideally located around the the corner from the old city.
Sylvie met us on our arrival and gave us plenty of local info i.e. nearest supermarket, tourist info and local transport.
The apartment was well equipped, clean and comfortable.
Good kitchen facilities and nice bathroom with plenty of hot water.
All in all, success all round.
Agree with previous review, would be a bit cramped for four.
We were looking for an inexpensive place to stay for a few days where we could do some simple cooking. The place was well equipped and there were supermarkets close by. Also a great little store around the corner to get fresh bread etc. There was plenty of hot water and it was quiet at night.
Although there are 2 bedrooms I would not recommend this place to more than 2 adults as it is rather small.
