Just back, having spent a week in villa Sonia. Stayed with my 3 brothers, but there were enough beds to sleep 8-9. Villa had everything you could hope for, clean, well equipped, decent Wi-Fi, fully air conditioned, private, secure, good pool and barbecue area. Pictures probably don't do it justice.
Proximity to the strip was perfect, 2 mins to walk there, but just far enough away to keep out the noise. Oura beach also only a 10 min walk away and you could walk to Old town in about 25-30 mins.
Dale was a pleasure to deal with, very prompt and accommodating and as previous traveller mentioned, reliable transfer service, with Bruno the driver extremely likeable.
Overall, highly recommend this villa to other travellers.
Went as a group of 6 lads. The villa was spacious and clean and great location. Its literally a 2 minute walk to the strip which was perfect. The new BBQ area around the side of pool is also brilliant. Dale was also very helpful, transfers were super easy and as long as you stick to the rules you get the deposit back!
I stayed in the villa recently with my husband and 3 year old daughter. First impressions were very good apart from an unpleasant smell in the living room area and the bathrooms. By the next morning the smell in the living room was so strong we had to buy products and mop the entire living area, this had to be repeated several times throughout our stay. It smelt like dog or like a dirty mop was used on the floors, also we had to put product down the toilets as they did not smell fresh when we arrived.
The kitchen was well stocked, unfortunately cooking was a nightmare as you could only use 1 ring at a time, I had 1ring and the grill on and the electric kept tripping, it was very stressful to say the least and cooking a family meal became a chore! I cannot see how it would be possible to cook a meal for a larger group of people (the villa apparently sleeps up to 7 people).
One thing we love to do as a family is have our dinner al fresco, however this was not possible as the pool area was very dark in the evening as the solar lights were very dim and the pool light was broken! We told the manager about this on the Saturday morning but it was Tuesday evening before he could get an electrician free (the manager explained that electricians are in short supply, especially at the weekend), however he did manage to fix it. The result was it did improve but was still a bit dark so we had to place the dining room light out on the pool terrace using an extension lead (the bulb was smashed inside and full of bugs, had to clean and buy a new bulb ),
Although it's not advertised with maid service I was surprised that the towels and bed linen were not changed during our 10 day stay? Also the pillows were very flat/thin (had to bunch them up under head every night) and mattresses had toppers on them which slid about which was quite annoying!
Also having a young child we tend to stay in at night so tv is an important feature and the villa was advertised as having English channels, this is very misleading as there was only 1 English-speaking channel (not a uk channel). We had to rent a digital box at a cost of 35 euros so I think this should be made clear in the villas description.
I am aware this review is very detailed but it is an honest and frank account warts and all! I have stayed in many villas and it's not difficult to rectify the majority of these issues, I hope the manager willl treat this review in a positive way and uses it to correct the issues.
All in all we did enjoy the villa despite these issues and the manager Dale was very accommodating, just think the description needs tweaked and the cleaners need to up their game.
