It's an old house that is beautifully furnished and decorated. My room was surprisingly large, like a an apartment. There's cozy dining area and a living area with wood-burning fireplace. Wifi is excellent, though you might need to switch between SSIDs when moving through the floors... because signals don't penetrate through solid stone walls. Be sure to try the local products at breakfast, most notably olive oil and pão da castanha (chestnut bread), which you can also buy some for yourself at the mercearia downstairs.

Marvão is a beautiful place to spend a night, and this little hotel maybe one of the best choices. The owners are so friendly, the rooms, even if not so wide, are comfortable and the toilets is renewed and perfect. The breakfast is good and the situation in the heart of the city, is great.

This small hotel in the centre of Marvao was a real find. I knew it was a hilltop town but didn't expect it to be so quaint and original. I was travelling with my father who isn't very mobile but the owner of the hotel gave us a room which could be accessed via a back door by driving around the village so that was problem solved!
The building has been renovated sympathetically keeping many of the oringinal features but the room was large and comfortable and the shower hot and powerful.
The owner has a small shop on the ground floor selling essentials and a buffet breakfast is also available for a small charge which was excellent.
The village itself was amazing being completely fortified overlooked by it's castle and there were a few bars and restaurants very close by and a great bar next to the church with views for miles around.
Definitely worth a visit!
