We stayed two nights here after a trip around Portugal and it was a great choice to relax and visit Evora. As you're probably aware, the hotel is built around an old convent.
The plus points : quiet location surrounded by olive groves but with easy access to Evora, lovely common interiors with antique religious artwork, the free daily tour of the historic property, an extremely nice staff, the daily free wine tasting, big and comfortable room, (we stayed in the old wing - i never saw the modern rooms), nice pool, tasty breakfast buffet.
I'd make a few minus points: it is a biggish hotel so don't expect some boutique bijoux, some hallways could use some freshening up, they could do a little more landscaping in the garden area, and the gym could use a few more weight machines.
But any negative aspects are outweighed by the charming historic property, and the friendly staff. My wife was on crutches during our trip and they couldn't have been more helpful.
Note that the hotel is outside Evora, but it took us just 10 minutes to drive in and park. The hotel restaurant is a bit pricey by Portuguese standards so we always went to town for dinner. I think the hotel has a shuttle. You are only 1 1/2 hours from Lisbon airport on Portugal's excellent highway system.More
