The name is funny, but the place is great. The decoration tends to incorporate local elements, whilst keeping all rooms bright and well lit, except in the reception, where a cosy, dim light welcomes you day and night. We stayed in a 2nd floor room with a pool view. The bed was large and comfortable, we slept soundly here, also thanks to the thickness of the walls. We stayed for only a night, so we did not have the chance to try the pool, but it looked great from our balcony. There’s also a large lawn besides the pool for the children to play on.
The hotel’s location is good either, within city walls so you’re close to all Évora’s main attractions, restaurants, etc. It’s also nearby a a gateway inside the walls and very easy to reach from the main roads, which allows you to avoid driving too deep inside the narrow urban mesh. There’s a free private underground park, so you needn’t worry about your car all the time.
As for breakfast, everything was OK.
A little word for the staff as well, which was very nice for us at all times. They even allowed to leave our car parked in the hotel after checking out, while we roamed the city for the afternoon.
All in all a great stay, nothing to complain about and I’d recommend this place to anyone visiting Évora.

The location was most convenient for walking throughout Evora. Our room / rooms were spacious with views looking into the walked city especially from the balcony. Breakfast buffet was provided daily. We chose to eat other meals in town. The pool was inviting one afternoon after lots of walking.

Hotel looks somewhat tired, but is very clean and is surrounded by beautiful grounds.Rooms a spacious, we had a huge terrace, facing pool and ancient walls. It was very peaceful, but convenient for both city locations and highway access(we travelled the area a lot).
Beds are not very comfortable and breakfast was mediocre. I would also like to see better service in the breakfast room. Front desk staff was very courteous and helpful.

We had an excellent stay at this hotel, the staff were so welcoming on arrival and we were given an upgrade without asking for one.

The rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated as was the whole hotel.
With a short walk to the town centre and all the historic places, you couldn't ask for a better place in Evora to stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the pool area

The hotel central location was terrific. You could easily walk to the main town square within ten minutes and feel completely safe doing so. That put you within walking distance of coffee shops, and several very good restaurants and a Faldo House too. These places are hidden and only have small entrances and signs so be sure to ask at the front desk for directions, suggestions and reservations as some are limited in seating capacity. The hotel staff excelled at being helpful. The breakfast was very good although after a week I could have used some variety, but it did not appear that most guests stayed more than a couple of night.
The room I had was basic with a comfortable bed and was very clean and spacious. the bathroom was nice and had decent amenities. The lounge and pool area were well kept and the staff was friendly and helpful. I could see if a big wedding or other party took over the hotel the "peace and quiet" that is the norm would be gone.

Room Tip: The pool view rooms would be nicer, but may be noisy too.
