We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this sweet cottage in the forest. It was private and incredibly quiet but with easy access to local attractions. Every amenity was provided and the cottage was immaculately clean. While not on the water a short forest walk led to a dramatic view of Witless Bay. We enjoyed an O'Brien's boat tour, hiking at La Manche Park, and the short trip to the Avalon Colony in Ferryland.
The cottage was beautiful and well appointed. The beds were very comfortable and the washer and dryer was a bonus. The cottage is secluded and quiet. There is a trail off the back yard that takes you to the cliffs for a beautiful ocean view.
Joy was very helpful with throughout the rental process and I would definitely recommend this property.
This cottage is perfect- all new amenities, immaculate, tastefully furnished, great location. It has a special, peaceful, zen-like feel to it, due to the beautiful, understated furnishings, and a large, private outdoor space.
It's a 2 minute walk to a lovely beach and the magnificent East Coast trail. We arrived in the early evening, to find a delicious bread, butter in the fridge, and fresh coffee awaiting us. We will definitely be back.
We had a wonderful stay at Gallows Cove. The cottage was in immaculate condition and was very well stocked. Every detail was seen to. If you plan to prepare your own meals the kitchen had everything you could need. There were even fans for the nights it got hot in each bedroom. The location is perfect. The beach just up the road was stunning and the whales put on a lovely show for us every night. The proximity to the East Coast Trail is ideal. It is also a great jumping off point for the whole Avalon Peninsula as well as St John's. We would recommend this cottage to anyone and hope to return some day.
Gallows Cove is a wonderful cottage with beautiful hardwood floors, well equipped kitchen, heavenly comfortable beds and a huge deck to catch the morning sun and evening sunset. A few hundred yards down the path is the wonder of Witless Bay that was full of humpback whales, putting on a spectacular show every day. We loved our week of exploring the Irish Loop from Gallows Cove and made daily trips to the surrounding sites. St. John's was less than 25 minutes away and all the fishing villages and historical sites kept us happily busy.
