Having just returned from a weekend break at the Cottage de Vinck we can't recommend this place highly enough. We've previously stayed in a number of self catering cottages in both the UK and Europe but I can safely say this is the best yet. With a toddler and baby in tow it was important for us to have as many items at the cottage as possible. When we arrived the bedrooms where made up with a cot and babies changing mat in one room and a twin room for our 4 year old located near to the main double bedroom. The cottage also has a couple of high chairs, lots of children's toys, books and children's cups, bowls etc. The cottage can sleep up to 18 people in 9 rooms, only 2 of the rooms are en suite but this isn't a problem as there a number of toilets and showers throughout the cottage. There is a large dinning area with a bar and then a separate sitting room with TV, DVD player etc. The cottage is located down a quite lane with ample parking for at least half a dozen cars. The large grassed garden at the rear of the property contains a great little swing, climbing, slide set for the little ones and a patio for the grown ups to enjoy the local beer whilst keeping an eye on the children. There is a pond in the garden with a couple of friendly ducks but even this has been though as far as children are concerned as the pond has a large fence round the outside to keep children out. The Cottage de Vinck is an ideal base for a family holiday, a group of friends looking for a weekend away or battlefield tour groups. The cottage is located in Hooge just a short walk from the very informative Hooge Crater Museum and only a 5 minute drive to the typical Flemish town of Ypres. To add to all the great points already mentioned the lovely owners of the cottage will make you more than welcome.
