This little hotel is just perfect. Spotlessly clean rooms (and pretty roomy for Europe), great, helpful staff, yummy breakfast and free bikes to use! Can't recommend it highly enough. Location is just outside the main city center but less than 5 minutes walk away. Quite, safe neighborhood.

pretty room, great location, very friendly helpful staff. Our room looked down into a quaint little courtyard with neat rows of bicycles (very Bruges!) Nothing was too much trouble and there were a couple of free extras that made a big difference: car parking and bicycles.

Brugge is an interesting town, especially after 5 or so when the buses leave and the crowds are less intense. Come in the Spring or late Winter when ice is still on the canals, even better. The Adornes remains a fine example of what being a truly great small hotel should be, bar none. This is an update: I have stayed there on and off many times since 1986 and it continues to maintain the high bar of perfection. The location is close to all - after all, Brugge is a small town - yet removed just enough to be quiet. It is on a canal; ask for a room with a view! There is an elevator to get up to the floors. The rooms are clean as a whistle, comfortable, and the beds are perfect for a long rest. If you have a bathtub, use it: it is deep and heavenly. When I come, I look at their small but good wine list and get a bottle 'for the room'. It helps as you unpack or have a glass before bed at night.... Breakfast is enormous; you just might not have any desire to eat anything more during the day. The front desk is always helpful, kind, and understanding of various wants or issues. Having had to leave very early once, they laid out a breakfast for me well ahead of normal opening time. This last time, I had to leave a day early due to the train strikes; there was no problem at all. I would stay nowhere else. For fun, take one the hotel's bikes and cycle out to Damm on a flat flat flat road along the old canal from the sea that used to supply Brugge back in the day and stop for lunch or a beer. Just around the corner from the hotel is the oldest bar/restaurant in Brugge; if good weather, get a seat outside in the garden and kick back. The Adornes is just a perfect place to stay.

The Adornes is a charmer, much like Bruges. Located a few blocks from the tourist-heavy center of town, it's a bit off the beaten path in a good way. The room was average size by European standards, and was clean with a comfy bed. Ours overlooked the canal, which made for a relaxing venue for enjoying a glass of wine and watching passers-by. Several nice little restaurants and bars within a short walk. The front desk staff was very helpful in lining up a tour of Flanders Fields (Quasimodo Tours--highly recommended as well). We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the Adornes highly.

Room tip: Ask for a canal view

The location of the hotel is good, as it's by the river. You can easily walk everywhere in Bruges from there. The guy at the reception was very helpful and gave all needed info.

The hotel is old, 70s style. It's clean but not comfy. The bed wasn't comfortable. There was a strange smell in the corridor and the rooms. It needs refurbishment. The breakfast was poor. No hot items. No cappuccino. For the price we paid, I expected a better overall experience. I don't recommend it.
