A large group of us spent an interesting several hours at the museum. The building itself is worth admiring. Don’t miss the unfinished work for which the museum paid US$ 31 mil. I didn’t get to the pottery exhibits so cannot comment on that.

I personally enjoyed visiting this museum. They have various displays of modern art throughout the building. It's free to enter with the museum card! The pottery section was my favorite.

Great to visit gemeente museum once in a while. With our museumjaarkaarten a short visit is always possible. Now we visited teh max Liebermann exhibit.
The architect Berlage did a great job. Just the museum is already an pleasure for the eye alone. Such great paintings if Max Liebermann, also the room with the beach paintings and the famous paintings of the papagaaienman, parrot man, and the free hour at the Amsterdam orphanage is really coming out of the painting. It is really looking great. I visited with my youngest, she liked it a lot, but didn't want to stay that long. So I walked her through the halls and talked her through the highlights and let het tell what she saw. Do we made it a really interactive visit. I let het read the wiki page of max Liebermann first so she was a little bit prepared.

Parking can be a problem, in front of the museum. The streets around are also available for parking so a small walk can give you a parking spot. Coming by train is a good solution too. It stops in front of the museum. You have Museon museum, photograph museum too here and the Omniversum movie theatre so for all the family can be a great spot to spend your day. The beach is some stops further just as the harbour. Here you can have a great drink or dinner, lunch.

Dismissed by lots of foreign tourists, however this museum is unlike most museums you can find at home. Sure the Mauritshuis has some amazing masterpieces, but nowhere else can you see the entire evolution of Mondrian's work displayed in such a fitting space with hardly any visitors!
