Would definitely stay there again!

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 10 Aug 2024via mobile
It’s a nice and cheap alternative for a trip to amsterdam! The rooms were clean and staff were always in a good mood and would help you if they could:)
Me and my friend took bus to zaandam and amsterdam as it was a bustop very close to the hotel. Sadly when we were there the buses were often cancelled, but it was not too far to walk to another bustop with other buses, or in general to the city of zaandam. Would definitely stay there again!

This is an option to stay at Zaandam as the hotel next to the train station is expensive. You need to take bus number 111 to reach this hotel and walk about 50 meters from bus stop.it used to be Ibis Hotel. The location is nice as it is near residential area, but as Schiphol airport is not too far away you still can see airplanes take off and the roaring sounds. Lobby is tiny, and there is free croissants at reception desk at afternoon. Small room as expected, no kettles, only two paper cups. The bed is comfortable, there is AC in the room and window can be opened but expect for insects fly in. The location is in the center of nowhere,so prepare yourself before check in such as snacks. There is even no minimarket in walking distance. For a short stay it is fine but not for long stays. The price is moderate but still expensive compared to Germany B&B hotels. Only recommended for those who just need a place to sleep and shower.

I wasn’t expecting much from this two star hotel but it felt like a 4 star hotel. Breakfast and staff were amazing. Great coffee! Jeremy and Sylvain were both wonderful human beings. Highly recommended. I’d stay here again in the future and look for this again.

So this is a remote basic b&b on a trading estate, 20 minutes by taxi to Amsterdam central. Clean and acceptable for a couple nights stay, I would not have been happy if I had stayed longer, as the rooms are very small, no tea or coffee in rooms, the bathroom door doesn't close unless locked. Our room wasn't changed daily as the website suggests, but I asked and made sure it was the third night. Also only one flat pillow. Aircon works well. Unfortunately with window open we had lots of flies and mosquitos in the room so had to keep it close. It's ashame the place won't take cash as its easier sometimes. Also tables outside could have done wirh a clean where people smoke etc.

Room tip: No thrills. But 24hr reception that sells snacks when needed. Could really do with tea/coffee in the rooms as needed after a long trip.

Good budget option. Easy to access Amsterdam with bus ~ 20min.
Zaandam center was ~ 20min walk with tons of restaurant options which very better priced than eating downtown Amsterdam.

Breakfast was 9.90€ which was good since options were limited close to the hotel.

Room was not spacious but you get what you pay for. Overall clean and fresh however no mini fridge in our room which was a disappointment. A bit of road noise during night but nothing extraordinary. However one BIG drawback with our room was the noise coming for the hallway... Door was not completely isolated and you could clearly hear people leaving and entering their rooms during the night.

I would say only drawback was the bad insulated door otherwise you get a lot for your money.

I chose this hotel as I wanted to be in the Amsterdam area but not in the city and it was very reasonably priced and had free car parking.

The hotel is located in the suburb of Zaandam and is one of the more modern B&B hotels and at the time I stayed there in June 2022 was undergoing renovations to transform the rooms from their former Ibis Budget style rooms to the better, I think B&B style rooms.

The hotel has a modern look and when I arrived it looked to me that it was kind of a life-size Lego building and that they had run our of the grey bricks and used some red, blue, white and yellow bricks here and there.

Check in was easy and the man on duty at the time was very friendly and informative and the lobby and café area seemed like a nice place to spend some time and there was also a small outside seating area.

The room as expected for a B&B property was small but functional, clean and modern with a comfortable bed, small side tables, some hanging and shelf space, wall mounted TV and a very small desk and padded stool. The bathroom which looked brand new was also small but functional and from the floorplan of the building on the back of the door appeared to be the main area that had been renovated enclosing the open shower from its former Ibis days into an enclosed room with the wc and vanity and the room was serviced each day.

.The only downside to my room that because of the renovations the air-conditioning wasn’t working which luckily wasn’t a huge problem during my stay.

One of the main reasons I picked this hotel was the free parking which was plentiful and didn’t have any issues finding a spot each night of my five night stay.

The location like most B&B hotels is in a semi commercial industrial area and there wasn’t much within walking distance except for another hotel and a Shell petrol station but there were plenty of other options a short drive away.

I used the hotel as a base to explore the areas around Amsterdam from Zaandam to Den Helder, Delft, Gouda and The Hague and found that the hotel and its location were perfect for this.

Would happily stay here again.

Room tip: If you don't have a car you should be prepared for a walk and 30 minute + bus ride to Amsterdam
