The worst van der valk ever. Stay away and book somewhere else, if you don’t have time to read further. The price was rather high and I booked because it had a pool, which was disappointing, very small, biting smell of chlorine, not suitable for kids. But the worst is the restaurant. The poor food and the reviews are right. But the waiters are just not fit to work in the hospitality business. They look like they are burdened by requests, don't know much about their menu, and act grumpy. But our experience tops any others. We left the restaurant without ordering (and without saying anything) because we were ignored, and did not like the service and food the day before. Now, the waitress and some young “manager” came to our table at the other cafe! They started to lecture us on how unpleased they were by _our_ attitude! We were deeply shaken by this. Our kid was unsettled. We left the cafe and talked to the receptionist about making a complaint. It almost brought my wife to tears. But that’s not everything: the words were exchanged and we were asked to leave the hotel! I traveled a lot but have never seen such arrogance and audacity to offend people. It casts a shadow at all van der Valk hotels.
