First the pros: the location was very good. Roland was easy to deal with and accessible. There was coffee and a nice coffee machine. The flat is spacious. The cons: Clean sheets would be welcome. A major upgrade in the pillow and towel department would help. Also, a pot holder. And of course, the stairs are very steep. With a small dollar, or euro, effort this place could be great. Even so, it was a great week in Amsterdam.
The location was great! We have issues with cleanliness and with the attitude of the owner, Roland. When we moved in the red carpet in the living room had not been vacuumed, there was a dirty dish towel near the sink and there were no face cloths. The towels in the bathroom were kind of grubby too. The owner had told us to leave a note in the apartment informing him of any problems, which we did. We did not hear from Roland for our entire stay. It turned out that R. wanted us to leave a note in his adjoining apartment, which he did not tell us about. We had an uncomfortable feeling of the owner rushing us through his rental spiel. The main issue was that he had advertised two bedrooms, which was not true. There was one bedroom but the "second bedroom" was a pull out couch next to the dining room, which was not comfortable. We were keen on two bedrooms, as we have trouble sleeping on couches.
Altogether we would say that if the above issues are addressed before an arrival we could recommend this apartment.
The apartment is great and the neighborhood is the best place to go out for dinner and buy groceries to cook at the apartment. Nice market nearby on Monday
We had stayed for 3 nights and the place is amazing and we just loved it. The apartment is very close to the Center and Jordan is cool and silent to take a stroll in the night.
Perfect location right in the centre with a string of shops at the top of the street, but far enough down that it's silent when you're inside. Would highly recommend.
