The location of this hostel is perfect to visit the centre of Amsterdam, but that also has disadvantages because it was very noisy during the night. The shared room (10 people) was correct, and they provided towels and bedsheets. The toilets and showers were decent, but it is a small hostel so there are not many common facilities.

This was perfect for crashing a couple of nights when you are going to be out and about most of the time and basically need a bed. There are storage lockers under each bed, and the bathrooms were cleaned daily (although they could get quite grody - from what I could tell 3 rooms of 12 people on each floor shared the one bathroom on the floor) and there multiple stalls, showers and sinks. The rooms appeared clean enough and and they provided towels and linens, and there was free wifi. The location was perfect - in the Red Light District, a few minutes walk from the Centraal station. Easy to find if you don't have internet. Easy to find at night if you are not sober. The Irish pub downstairs is probably the highlight - definitely go here and meet some new friends, especially since there isn't really a common area in the hostel. The barkeeps are some great guys.

The location of the White Tulip is very central and a 10minute walk from Central Station. The guy on reception on arrival was friendly and efficient, unlike the guy we met upon checking out who didn't seem to know much about how the desk operates.
We had a 5 bed en-suite room and had the usual climb of the narrow steep staircases of Amsterdam to tackle on route. The bathroom was surprisingly quite spacious but the floor got very slippery once the shower had been used and wasnt quick to dry. The drawback of this room was its proximity to the communal bathrooms for some other rooms and the fact that it was consistently quite noisy.

Room Tip: Get an en-suite and bring ear plugs

The hostel itself was quite nice and the man at the front desk was SO FUNNY. I stayed in the 10 person room with all my friends so we were all together. The beds were fine and there was storage space under every bed.

The biggest issue was the fact that the windows kept out no sound so we heard EVERYTHING all night and slept awfully.

Forgetting the noise, the hostel was a good place and in a good location.

friendly, helpful reception, fine bunk bed, comfortable bathroom area (showers, toilets, lavaboes); the lesser aspects are connected to the type of room of 14 beds (people chatting and coming in/out at any times at night)
