A hell hole. They call it clean and pleasant but it is so so not. Filthy and unhygienic cesspit which nearly ruined our city break. And they couldn't care less. The minute you open the front door you begin to stick to the heavily stained carpets, dust and dirt is a common sight. The pics are only a taster of the Frisco Inn
We paid over £400 for this hotel for 2 nights, it was extremely filthy dusty and dirty covering all skirting boards, what looked like a smudge of poo on the shower curtain, paint chipping off the all walls, mould in ALL tile grout in the bathroom, towel radiator filthy and rusty, bleach stains and other stains on carpets, the first night got woken at 3am by a girl banging on our door shouting help then heard her getting dragged down the stairs this continued on till 6am. We stopped here 4 years ago it was perfect very clean to a 4* standard but now it’s really downhill very disappointed, for the price we expect so much more. The only good thing I can say the lady who checked us in was nice. DO NOT STAY HERE
We booked a deluxe room.
Omg it was terrible.
Dirty stained duvet in bottom off wardrobe, no hangers in wardrobe. Carpet stained everywhere.
Shower curtain moldy, Blind too big for window.
Stains on walls and paintwork chipped. Dust behind radiator. We both have medical problems so no way were we staying here.
We didn't even unpack and went down to complain and ask for a refund.
Told we had to go through Booking. Com.
Then they asked for bank details and said money would be refunded in a couple of days, no way did we fall for that. Refund should go back on the card used for booking.
Had to find another hotel which cost us more but was clean and welcoming.
Put a complaint in with Booking. com when we got back and asked for a refund, complaint application still ongoing.
Our first visit to Amsterdam was bittersweet.
This is a scam that I’m sure is illegal somewhere. They advertise a total different room which looks acceptable and clean. When you get there you will realise that it is unhygienic and you can’t take your socks off the whole day. They won’t give you another room.
Pick wisely between opening the window to the disgusting apartment, which looks like it’s been used as a sex dungeon for the night, for some fresh air.. or between listening to a raving party in your sleep.
They charged us €150 euros per night to stay here. We believed it was a good deal as it was in the centre. Please avoid and go to a place you know. Booking.com didn’t even support us so €450 euros for a scam.
The tram services in Amsterdam are extremely easy to manage just take your time and use apps like GBV (the tram company).
Going onwards, I blocked out the misery for one night and got smashed.. don’t know why… as a punishment for falling for a scam. Then woke up and realised this was not okay. We asked the lady for €100 euros back for two nights stay. We again asked for a different room. We said this room isn’t what’s advertised…. Overall, we asked nicely in 4 different ways.
She said no. They won’t refund us and neither will booking.com… she was right.

easy hotel in Zaandam. Super clean and a 10 minute train away
Ibis stopera. Really reasonable and super close. Walkable to center or a tram away.
Just home from a weekend away at frisco , hotel staff are super friendly , easy check inn & helpful with local knowledge ect !
Location of the hotel is PERFECT few mins walk from the station , and right in the heart of restaurants , bars , museums , red light district ect .. my room was on the 1st floor (highly recommend requesting 1st floor as like most places in Amsterdam the stairs are narrow and super steep ) - honestly if you’re worried about the crazy stairs pay more & book a hotel with a lift as hotels in Amsterdam that are priced same as frisco all have these insane stairs lol !
Rooms are clean comfortable and deffo adequate
For a weekend break ! You can hear noise from party goers but we didn’t mind as that’s what we went for !
