Amazing team, location and accommodations.

Excellent hotel; stayed in a duplex suite which offered plenty of room for our family of three with the added benefit of two bathrooms. Perfect location and very attentive staff, even the engineer which came to our room to check on an outlet let us borrow his personal phone charger for the duration of our stay. We owe a special thanks to Eitan, the concierge, who planned marvelous tours for us during our stay. Alina, another member of the concierge team, also deserves a hat tip for all her attention to our room when we arrived and during our stay. A truly great operation.

When searching for a hotel in Amsterdam, my criteria were (1) to find something close to the city center, but not in the midst of it, (2) to find a place that has a soothing decor that promotes calmness and serenity, and (3) to find a hotel that is elegant and unique, without the cookie-cutter feel and look. Well, I found that in the Conservatorium Hotel.

From the moment we arrived at the hotel at around 7 - 7:30 am, we were greeted warmly by Cleo and Richard at the hotel’s lobby reception desk in an open and light-filled lobby. That moment set the tone for the rest of our 9-night stay at the hotel. Cleo then informed us that they upgraded us from the Grand Junior Suite room that I reserved to a Deluxe Suite to help us celebrate our anniversary. As if that was not enough of a pleaant surprise, she offered us free breakfast at one of their hotel restaurants, Barbounia, on that first morning while we waited for the hotel room to be cleaned and ready. Later that day after we returned to the hotel room from a few hours of exploring Amsterdam, we were again pleasantly surprised with a bottle of champagne, an anniversary wish on our hallway mirror, and rose petals leading to the bedroom and on our bed.

The hotel room was a duplex, with the living room / sitting area downstairs and the bedroom upstairs, and a bathroom on each of the floors. The room was decorated in a very warm tone, and felt luxurious and soothing. Unlike other European hotels that we stayed at, Conservatorium Hotel offered the most variety in TV channels to their international pool of patrons.

The architecture of the hotel is simply breathtaking. The glass ceiling over Barbounia, the lounge, and the lobby creates such a bright and inviting space for its hotel’s guests. The hotel’s gym has a comprehensive selection of equipment and weights that rival a commercial gym that one may have membership at one’s hometown. Aside from having breakfast each morning at Barbounia, we also had dinner there one night and in the Japanese restaurant in the hotel, Taiko.

While all of surprises, decor, and architecture of the hotel were fantastic, what I enjoyed most were the people who represent the hotel. As one of the first member of staff to greet a guest, Cleo is an asset to the hotel. She was very warm, personable, patient, genuine and sincere. She knew how to set her guests at ease, especially when they are exhausted like us when we arrived. Throughout the rest of our stay at the hotel, she continued to engage with us when we passed by the reception desk and to see how we were doing with our holiday.

Another staff member that made our stay a wonderful experience was Ayla. Like Cleo, Ayla was very welcoming, genuine, friendly, engaging, and sincere. She’s another asset to Conservatorium Hotel and to The Set organization, as I understand that she’s only temporarily there from London. If I think about the representation of excellence in hospitality service, I would think of Ayla without hesitation.

Aside from Cleo and Ayla, we also enjoyed meeting other members of Barbounia, including Emanuele (spelling?), Anna, and Bellia (spelling?).

I (we) definitely cannot wait to return to Amsterdam and to stay at the Conservatorium Hotel again.

This was a beautiful hotel (love the history attached to it where it was previously a bank and then a hotel conservatory) with the unique Dutch architecture. We have been fortunate to have stayed at some nice hotels before but this was at the top end of our price bracket especially with having to get two rooms for our family of four and we were only able to stay here with their stay four days and pay for three promotion.

The location was fantastic—close to the museum quarter (steps away from the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh) but out of the tourist hubbub. It had easy transit to both tram (connecting with central station) and bus with stops outside of the hotel. It is near good restaurants as well and bakeries and love that a grocery store was steps away too.

The service was fantastic and they were so kind to upgrade us from our original deluxe room to rooftop suites (we had booked three rooms traveling with my parents as well). It was an incredible experience with rooms well appointed and Dutch architecture but so spacious for the city. I had originally booked here since their deluxe rooms were larger than the rooms I was finding in other hotels but loved the views from the windows and ample space with seating areas.

My husband enjoyed use of the gym during our stay. It was very zen and fortunately not crowded in the evening hours.

We hope to visit Amsterdam again and would plan on returning here since it was an amazing stay despite it being on the top end of our range :).

We’re also delighted that you were able to take advantage of our special promotion and that our upgrade to the rooftop suites added to your experience. This Hotel is a "must stay place!" Every aspect of our nearly a week stay there was exceptional. At the top of our list of accolades is the two very capable and affable concierges Etan and Marc. They made our stay beyond being just memorable and enjoyable, they made it outstanding! Their wonderful and expert suggestions, arrangements and guidance were only exceeded by their friendly, charming and warm reception and helpful attitudes. Thank you and kudos to both and the hotel's management for having them as the "Goodwill Ambassadors" for the Conservatorium!
