Some things about our stay were excellent. The bar manager Hasib, as well as all the staff at Iluminair went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and make our stay more comfortable.
Timothy, at the concierge desk was also wonderful.
Our 3 star rating is due to the housekeeping issues we had. We were here for a week. One day, we chose not to have our room cleaned. 3 out of the remaining days our room was not cleaned. They have 2 door tags. One says you don’t want your room cleaned that day, the other says “ later please- do not disturb”. This is the one we placed on our door every day except the first. After being out all day we returned to a room that had not been cleaned. The first time we complained, went to dinner and returned to a clean room and a letter notifying us that they had entered our room due to a hotel policy that if your room is not serviced in 48 hrs. they enter your room to check it. Why the letter? You just cleaned my room after I complained 2 x’s that you had not cleaned it! The 2nd time, we complained and we were told they would “ try” to get it cleaned. Someone came, and cleaned the bathroom. We asked her about the bed and she made it, but made it clear she was not happy about it. The third time we complained and asked to speak to a manager. The front desk clerk said she could help and again said she would try to get the room cleaned. We said try was not an option. We went to dinner and then went to the front desk and again requested to speak to a manager. Kimberley came out and apologized. She said it was because we had a do not disturb sign on the door. I pointed out that they have 2 tags to put on the door and except for our first night we had used the one that “ later please”. They should not have that if they aren’t going to come later. We always removed it before leaving the room and it was always in the morning!
Kimberley was nice and apologized,but you should not have to beg for your room to be cleaned!!

Not good service for honor members.
I arrived at the hotel asking for help to book a room and the front desk staff didn't care about it.
The lobby was crowded and noisy.
I didn't feel welcome and I went to other hotel with better quality-price.
I got a nice view paying much less in a quieter area.
I put 3 stars just because of its location.

Just wanted to reach out and say what a valuable team member that Christina is for this business. She is the smile that greet many people when they come for breakfast and she manages the entire buffet. We have had a great time and enjoyable breakfast. Thanks to Christina and vegan and gluten-free selections that they offer in the breakfast buffet at the Doubletree

My friend and I took our daughters to AMS first week of July, and to see Taylor Swift. We picked DoubleTree for location. The room rates were sky HIGH. (1k/night) Yikes, but we needed a room. Busy week. When we checked in at 3pm first thing you can't not notice...super loud drilling construction above our room. Loud! Over our stay it would start as early as 9am and late as 5pm = zero relaxing in our room. For inconvenience, we got a couple drinks tickets to the roof top bar (no kids allowed) that went used, sadly, cause we had two 10yo kids in tow. Also, we stayed three nights and NO house keeping. I had to walk down and ask if we could get our trash cans emptied and when I asked for bottled water, they told me the tap water was just as good. Actually, the tap water was good. Great location, not so great experience. ps TSwift was incredible!

This was a very busy and efficient hotel. It was a pleasant place to stay. Rooms were a good size, clean and comfortable. The concierge on any occasion we asked for help were fantastic and the lovely man who seated us for breakfast every morning was a delight. The breakfast range is huge

Room tip: No idea where you would park a car.

The Doubletree Centraal Station is a conveniently located hotel in the center of Amsterdam. I have been multiple time since 2016 and have at a minimum 1-2 stays here per year. Each time has been great but especially since the rooms have started to get updates. The hotel is conveniently located next to Centraal Station and is an easy ride from the airport via Uber, Taxi, or Train. Getting Uber from the hotel can take a little longer because of where the cars can pick you up at the hotel. Since the rooms have been updated the only complaint I have is the lighting and dark color scheme makes the room darker than most hotels. Staff is always friendly and the coffee shop there was closed for renovation during my stay which made your options limited to what they could make at the bar and what you had in the room. There is a supermarket within walking distance and multiple dining options. Room service is standard but always has good fast options. Will be back in the next few months so I hope the next stay is as good or better.

Room tip: Checkin time seems to be followed strictly. Book the City View as the courtyard or other views include train tracks!
