Hotel 27 Experience in Amsterdam

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 6 Jul 2024
I stayed at Hotel 27 for 3 nights from June 28 to July 1st 2024.

I would highly recommend Hotel 27 for anyone. This is an "experience" and a once in lifetime opportunity. The suites are beautiful and very spacious with high tech features for lighting, showers and heated floors in the bathroom. The staff is unbelievably helpful. They made sure we had everything we needed and were very responsive to any of our requests. They got us last minute reservations at restaurants and the concierge walked us to the restaurants a few blocks away. He talked with the restaurant staff to make sure we were well received.

You are very close to shopping and nice cafes and restaurants right in the middle of the city center. Some descriptions say it's "in the Red Light District". That is not the case even though the district is in walking distance. It was safe and right in the middle of all the canals.

In my 30 years of travel I have never seen a hotel that provides this level of service. Again, I highly recommend this "experience"!

Staying in Hotel Twenty Seven is one of the most memorable experience in terms of exquisiteness and excellent customer service.

Located on the heart of Amsterdam - Dam Square, we can see department store de Bijenkorf from the room window. It’s a walking distance of key attractions such as the Nine Streets, the Red Light District, and the Anne Frank House.
The hotel suite is luxurious, and has jacuzzi, heated floor, and sauna in the shower room.

However, what truly distinguishes Hotel Twenty Seven is its exceptional hospitality and service. From the moment we arrived, the doormen and front desk greeted us with warmth and politeness. They anticipated our needs and provided umbrellas in anticipation of raining. In particular, Ugur, one of the doormen, offering tips and help arranging Uber rides since Dam Square area does not allow taxi.

The breakfast at hotel restaurant is a blast and great family time. Each day, we indulged in a lavish four-course breakfast featuring an array of delectable dishes, including truffle sandwiches, assorted hams. Omelets is the most delicious we ever had. The staff Daisy was so nice and attentive. All the staff in Hotel TwentySeven are so professional and make this stay really special.

While AI is trending to replace many service related industries, Hotel Twenty Seven is an example of how human hospitality remains an indispensable factor in creating memorable guest experiences, one that cannot be replaced by artificial intelligence.

Our stay at Hotel Twenty Seven was nothing short of spectacular. My friend and I showed up to Amsterdam with absolutely no plans, and the staff at the hotel basically planned our whole trip for us. I'm talking dinner reservations, excursions/activities, and shopping recommendations. The staff was even able to get us on a guest list for an exclusive night club which was so much fun, that we ended up returning the next night!

The hotel and room itself was also the nicest we've ever experienced. The rooms are cleaned in the morning and in the evening. The jacuzzi and steam shower are to die for as well. You are treated like royalty here.

And of course the restaurant and bar were serving top notch food and cocktails, can't leave that out of this review.

Don't make the mistake of staying anywhere else for your stay in Amsterdam. We can't wait to return!

The pictures of the hotel look great online, and the hotel is definitely unique. Very clean. However, the inside was dark, the colors were depressing to me, especially since the windows were small, and the ceiling of the rooms were low. The decor was very claustrophobic, brown and dark With use of weird lighting at night. The framed picture in my room was even more creepy to go with the whole motif. Maybe it was because I was a solo traveler, but I can’t imagine it if giving a romantic vibe if you’re a couple. This room might be best for a group of Friends looking to party and be on drugs. I also ordered room service one night and the hamburger was pretty gross. I consider myself well traveled and cultured and this definitely was not a good experience. I ended up leaving earlier and completely changed. My travel plans based on my experience at this hotel.

We stayed for three nights in a beautifully decorated, large suite with amenities, such as heated bathroom floors, steam shower, espresso machine, Lalique bath products , to list a few. The windows were triple paned so you never realized you were overlooking Dam Square, until you looked outside. Quiet AND in the heart of the city are a perfect combination
The staff was helpful, friendly and very knowledgeable on everything you asked them. The doorman actually walked us down into the nearby Metro stop to make sure we got on the right train. Dinner at the restaurant had to be one of the best dining experiences we have had. The tasting menu, along with the wine pairings, was amazing. Every server in the restaurant was professional, without making you feel intimidated by any question or request. Highly suggest the Breakfast Experience as well in the morning to start out your day.
Cocktail lounge was hip, yet comfy, with the bartender remembering our drinks the second night- always a good sign of a professional mixologist!
So glad we found this hotel. Wish I could give them six stars, instead of 5!

Room tip: Suites are extra large and well worth the price.

Great small hotel with 16 suites. Ours overlooked dam square with large bedroom and gorgeous living room. Master baths had heated floors and toilet. Twin shower and steam

Bedroom was large. Staff was amazing and we travel a lot. Maybe the most helpful and nicest we’ve ever had

Breakfast either in restaurant or room was perfect. Barca’s great both gorgeous and fun. Good location but hectic compared to the museum areas

Totally unique would go back
