This hotel is just one step from being very good. We were disappointed with the breakfast as we expected better from the reviews. It does not take too much effort to peel and chop up fresh fruit, but apperently too much effort for the hotel: breakfast cereal with no bowls and no spoons, congealed fried eggs, cups but no saucers and no coasters In the room - no where to balance a coffee cup. All minor petty things just needs a nanager to walk around with their eyes open.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Chasse. We had a room with a balcony and two single beds pushed together, both of which were very comfortable with fluffy pillows and soft sheets. The service was excellent, room was everything we could want, and the location was perfect.

It IS a bit of a hike to the touristy area of Amsterdam, but we found it to be perfect for us, as the hustle and bustle of the downtown core was a bit overbearing and it was nice to have this little sanctuary to go back to.

There is a beautiful little restaurant downstairs and lots of groceries and shops in the neighbouring area. Loved a small Syrian restaurant close to the hotel called Sham, would highly recommend it as well. Overall, perfect stay at this hotel. Would absolutely stay here again.

A big shout out to the lovely front desk staff who were so attentive, friendly, and even caught us before getting into the cab to head back to the airport to tell us that we had forgotten a shirt in the room (my husband's favourite, so MAJOR bonus points there!) Thank you so much, Chasse!

We received a warm welcome from the gentleman receptionist and found the hotel easily from the airport using directions and tram info sent beforehand.

I stayed in rm 523 with my adult daughter. It was a spacious, beautiful twin room and was very clean, luxurious and comfortable. I booked this specifically because there are bedside plug sockets which are a must if you are a CPAP user. The beds were SO comfortable. I can not find any fault with the room and would stay in it again.

The breakfast buffet was exceptional. A wide variety of food and all fresh and delicious. The kitchen staff outdid them selves. Again would recommend for this aspect.

However,

The only set back was that there was a communication problem between reception and the kitchen staff and no vegan breakfast was prepared on our first morning for my daughter, despite having notified the hotel well in advance (twice) and received confirmation. This was a very important error because I checked before booking in the first place that vegan options would be available. It was a deciding factor for our stay.

The kitchen staff were apologetic but the female receptionist was really quite rude when I brought this up and she made me feel very upset and cry, and it was sad because it was on the morning of my 50th birthday which was the reason for the special trip which was a once in a lifetime trip for me and I had spent a long time planning it and making sure everything would be great.

It is kind of odd that with such an amazing selection of food that there was very little vegan options. It's not hard after all to provide soya milk so that at the very least someone could have a coffee and cereals. Especially when we found that Amsterdam culture and cafes are very accommodating of vegans usually.

The next day the kitchen staff had made an effort to provide a selection to my daughter, and I understand it was not their fault about the miscommunication.

However I cannot help but feel let down by the reception / hotel staff with this and it did mean my birthday morning was ruined by the rude receptionist. Hence I have removed one star.
