Not really happy:
Booked a suite for one week and air conditioning was broken. Took them several days to fix it (a refund was promised but not given at the end) - and still it was rather noisy.
Breakfast room is very crowded and understaffed. So during peak times it is difficult to find a clean table
Apart from those issues the hotel was ok
Great hotel!
Not the most modern hotel but you will feel at home for sure.
Housekeeping make such a great work every day, the rooms have plenty of space and nice Windows for day light.
Even in between the pandemia they manage to give you a ver nice breakfast for take to the room.
The staff is great, specially at the reception, they will help you in whatever you need.
Huge thank you for Isa who was so friendly and helpfull.
The City is great and thw location is great, with everything you need in a really short distance.

We arrived on the 13th possible leaving on the 21st and since first minute we felt welcome naturally, as Hospitality must be.
All staff is great, excelent location, great premises and acommodations.

Spent three nights in this hotel during the Covid pandemic, and we had a good stay. Check in was very sweet, we got a lot of information, about the hotel, the special breakfast situation, parking and not the mention about Alkmaar and the region.
The reception area is nice, but once you get upstairs in the hotel, it shows sign of lack of maintanance. It's time for some fresh paint and such. The room is rather large, very comfortable beds, a window that can open fully, a small fridge, large bathroom. It's a bit dated, and the walls could need a bit of art or such, as they are just white. There were a few big stains I would have enjoyed not to have in there, so some maintance is needed also here.
The parking is 16 euro for your whole stay, and the parking is nice and spacious, as that's not a given everywhere.
The hotel is within a few minutes walk into the lovely oldtown of Alkmaar, and the neighbourhood around the hotel is really nice and quiet.

We arrived in Alkmaar not really knowing what to expect other than it being a rather small picturesque city ,37km north of Amsterdam. I booked a 3 night stay in the Amrath Hotel as part of a package included on the Expedia site, and found that it was within walking distance (7minutes), from the Alkmaar station which was extremely convenient as we were carrying baggage and so didn’t need to hail for a taxi.
On arrival we were met by an extremely helpful young lady at the reception desk who was able to advise us on some the highlights we could expect to find in the town as well as issuing me with pocket map that she circled in biro to show our proximity from some of the major sites. Our room was on the fourth floor which was easily accessible via the lift in the main hall next to reception. The room was terrific & very spacious, it included a jacuzzi bath, large outdoor area, as well as a big sofa and two enormous flat screen TVs plus the bed was lovely and comfortable. I think it must have been a fairly quiet period (cheese festival later on in March)-as didn’t notice many other guests, but I’m sure it gets busier towards the summer months. All in all I thought it was one of cleanest and friendliest hotels I’ve stayed in, with great access to the old town and train station. Would thoroughly recommend staying at the Amrath Hotel if you’re visiting Alkmaar for a few days.
