Unique hotel, friendly staff that’s willing to do the extra mile.
We find this hotel is a true gem in Alkmaar.
The rules and regulations because of Covid-19 didn’t affect our trip to this hotel, nor did it change the experience of stsying in a former prison.
The city of Alkmaar is fun to hang out as well.
The hotel is very well renovated, rooms are nice. We didn't order food.
Improvements: 1. glass bathroom door doesn't alive well and has no bottom rail so it bangs against the wall, could be better glided.2. Main door has no draft of noise stoppers so you can hear everything outside the room and I could hear inside. But no room to room sounds. Add something to fill the gap under the door.
But we will definitely stay again if I'm the area
just an former jailhouse from the netherlands with good rooms good food and friendly people the facility is a old jailhouse iff you like a tour from the workers about how it was in the early day's as a juvenile :D
If you like nature / architecture, it’s for you.
Stayed here for my birthday weekend because I wanted an escape.
Very clean, very spacious room, courteous staff.
But the real highlight of this hotel is that it’s an old prison turned into a hotel.
Situated very close and even in a park, so one can easily enjoy the calm of the surroundings and also beautiful nature walks.
The downside to this is that if you are on foot it puts you far from the middle of town.
A cosy hotel in a green area close to the city center!

Hotel with history and Alkmaar is a pittoresque city worth visiting!
