The hotel is very well renovated, rooms are nice. We didn't order food.
Improvements: 1. glass bathroom door doesn't alive well and has no bottom rail so it bangs against the wall, could be better glided.2. Main door has no draft of noise stoppers so you can hear everything outside the room and I could hear inside. But no room to room sounds. Add something to fill the gap under the door.
But we will definitely stay again if I'm the area
just an former jailhouse from the netherlands with good rooms good food and friendly people the facility is a old jailhouse iff you like a tour from the workers about how it was in the early day's as a juvenile :D
If you like nature / architecture, it’s for you.
Stayed here for my birthday weekend because I wanted an escape.
Very clean, very spacious room, courteous staff.
But the real highlight of this hotel is that it’s an old prison turned into a hotel.
Situated very close and even in a park, so one can easily enjoy the calm of the surroundings and also beautiful nature walks.
The downside to this is that if you are on foot it puts you far from the middle of town.
A cosy hotel in a green area close to the city center!

Prison hotel with a very warm atmosphere. Staff were very pleasant and the room was very nice with comfortable beds and a great shower, but.....nothing to hang your clothes and/or towels (?!) Breakfast buffet was very good, but it gave a bit of a chaotic feel and why did the coffee machine need maintenance during breakfast?
There was one bit of a let down in the shape of the 2-course dinner, included in the deal; starter was fine, but the main course, shoulder of veal with vegetableS (plural !!) proved to be a smallish bit of meat, one asparagus, one anorexic carrot and 5 whole peas. For a smallish portion of chips - not included and biological - we had to pay 5 euro < huhhh ?? Just as well we don't have a big appetite, or we would have gone to bed hungry.
