In a classic case of expectations not meeting reality, I was disappointed in this hotel. By their own website hype I had expected more.
Check in is a sort of guided self check, I found the staff not overly friendly, they treated us like we were not overly bright when their digital system failed to work correctly.
The rooms were clean and modern. The bed however was hard and uncomfortable and although there is a large wall sign which speaks of a large double bed, it’s a small double bed with two small pillows, and two very small quilts which barely cover one person’s body. We barely fit in the bed (and I am small).
There are no in room amenities like tea and coffee and an iron. This is provided by way of a ‘galley’ on each floor, But if you’ve booked a loft room on the top floor there is no galley. As we were at the end of the hotel this meant a trek all the way to the lifts and down a floor to go all the way to the other end to get a cup of tea.
There is no way to contact reception from the room. So when we arrived to find only one tiny pillow in the room, we had to trek all the way back to reception to ask for another one.
The auto blinds don’t work, making the room quite light.
Overall, this is a pricey hotel, charging a full service rate but delivering only a budget hotel service. While the rooms are nice, they aren’t special.
