There was nothing dreadfully wrong with this hotel, but compared to the wonderful hospitality and facilities we received at our other hotels on our holiday in Italy this one was rather lacking.
We asked at reception whether we could leave the car outside, we pointed to where it was and were told it would be fine. When we got back to the hotel we were told we must move it, and we were lucky we didn't get a parking ticket.
I paid for upgraded rooms, which I thought meant there would be a lift, but this wasn't correct, and we had to make our way up the two flights of stairs, with several suitcases and bags, no one offered to help. The air-con which the upgraded rooms was supposed to have didn't work at night.
The free toiletries turned out to be a sachet of shampoo and one bar of soap. The doors needed stoppers, as they were so noisy as they banged against the wall, and the lighting was so poor I gave up trying to read.
Breakfast was adequate, and the dining room was beautiful. We also sat out in the garden which was nice.More
