Our stay at this hotel was a real treat for us - we had never stayed in a spa hotel before and had never been to Assisi, and to be honest we booked it at relatively short notice for three days between other sites in Italy when we could find little else. It turned into on of the highlights of the whole trip. Only one room was available - apparently their best, with a massive genuine 17th century fresco covering one wall. Wonderful, awe-inspiring. The room was comfortable, good bed, good shower. We found the spa area extraordinary, especially as it is very tastefully constructed around real Roman ruins, and everyday we happily soaked ourselves and used the sauna/frigidarium/spa pools. The restaurant had great views and very good food, and we used it two of the three nights. Staff were polite and helpful - they even gave us the recipes of some interesting cakes on the breakfast buffet.
Any criticism would be small and inconsequential; sure it's not convenient to call reception to adjust the aircon temperature and at our second visit to the restaurant we didn't get the exact table we requested, but still had one on the front of the balcony with fabulous views.
I would thoroughly recommend this hotel if you are happy to pay for quality. You could do much of what Assisi offers in a day or so, but I would advise staying here and stretching it out over three or more.

Two weeks ago, my husband and I made a day trip to Assisi. The city, by the way, is absolutely breathtaking--breathtaking! :) Though we didn't stay at the hotel, we did get to see much of the grounds before our spa date. The restaurant has incredible views of Assisi and surrounding hills. Do yourself a favor and make an outdoor reservation here. You won't regret it. The food and wine were excellent! The hotel looked clean, felt relaxing, and was quiet. The spa area was the same. The spa had low lighting but streams of natural light poured down on us (via a skylight). I loved the grey-purple color of the spa; it was really soothing. Guests were offered complimentary veggies and fruit, along with various teas and waters. The spa is highly recommended, and the next time we come to Assisi, we will stay here. The only part of the visit that was a bit different or unexpected was the massage. In the U.S., I often get deep tissue massages; I thought the Nun massage, described as a "deep massage," sounded somewhat similar; so I booked this particular kind of massage. The Nun massage felt more chiropractic in style. My arms, legs, and head (via pulling my hair) were placed in deep stretches, and then folded into pretzel-like positions. I just want to emphasize the part of the massage description that says it works to "restore range of motion." This is not similar to a deep tissue massage. If you want one like that, contact the spa to describe the experience you are seeking before booking. Overall, this place did not disappoint. It is amazing!

What a truly beautiful an exquisite hotel in Assisi. Wonderful contemporary decor, ultra-comfortable bed, heavenly shower, huge and indulgent spa, delicious expansive breakfast and exceptional staff! Cannot say enough good things about this hotel. First rate, top notch service. Ask for a room with a balcony overlooking the city.

Room Tip: get a balcony

This hotel was absolutely fantastic. We enjoyed our stay here very much. The rooms are modern and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was one of the better ones I've had in Europe with a wide assortment of cheeses, fruits, vegetables and more

Beautiful staff in a beautiful hotel in a beautiful town. The room was very comfortable and warm. The view from our room was spectacular.
The breakfast buffet was full of fresh fruit, fresh cheeses & pastries.
The spa was relaxing and interesting with Roman arches forming the roof. The massages were exceptionally good.
I would recommend the Nun Assisi for a refreshing & relaxing break.
