Booked through Airbnb and what a find!!!! Tucked far enough away from the city to be quiet but close enough to travel in to see the sites. We booked for 2 nights and were greeted on arrival by Roberto who was very helpful and friendly. We booked into an apartment which was spacious, very clean and well decorated.... we booked to 'chill' for the last day of our holiday so sat by the lovely pool all day looking across the fields at the fantastic views.... an awesome end to our holiday..

Casale Virgili is just the perfect place to stay to have the best of all worlds. Overlooking the stunning Tuscan countryside but just 10 minutes by car to beautiful Siena city, and 5 minutes from the motorway to tour all the amazing villages and surrounding towns. Managed by Roberto who is the perfect host with excellent spoken English and a mind of information, our trips out were made easy as were the local restaurants Roberto recommended. The secluded grounds leading to the pool area and the shady pergola to enjoy out of the sun, were a true welcome on our return each afternoon after visiting Siena, Monteriggioni, Gaiae(Chianti) and Castiglione on the coast. The excellent reviews on this B&B helped us to make the decision to stay there and I can only add every word is true. Wonderful place!

We reserved online using our CC , our reservation was readily acknowledged and guaranteed with the room type we requested. (No surprises) . We wish more nights were available but the owner mentioned this period was busy. The one night was enough to recharge our batteries. A wonderful breakfast with the option of sitting outside. The lady attendant was very friendly no attitude and even offered a 2nd cappuccino with no hesitations. Checking in could be a little different for someone from the states not use to buzzing in thru an intercom and stating your reservation , then being allowed in thru a handbar and an automatic gate, but that security measure made us feel secure against theft especially with our car rental . The rooms were clean and beds comfortable , with enough room in the shower and toilet area. The bus stop area is within a 15-20 minute walk thru a dirt road and hill, ideal for a person who doesn't mind walking. A little further you'll find a market , named Simply with everything you need. All in all I will stay here on my return trip to Siena .

Room tip: I recommend to book soon, and be assured of the honesty and integrity of the owner.

The room was clean and spacious and the cleaner came round regularly. The scenery into the hills outside made the stay worth every penny and more. The staff were all helpful and were happy to tell us about the main restaurants and sites to see nearby. They helped make the trip memorable for us.

We had no issues with our stay. Our only regret is not staying longer. This is the best side of Tuscany. All of the restaurants nearby are good.

Bear in mind, this accommodation is out in the country. If you do not hire a car, you will need to get taxis everywhere and this can build up cost substantially over a number of days. I would recommend hiring a car and/or taking local buses.

If you are going to Siena and want to get a real taste of the hills of Tuscany, definitely stay here.

Room tip: There is a supermarket nearby for water and other basic foods/drink you might want to have when relaxing a the hotel

This place goes beyond a beautiful and peaceful hotel. It's 10-15 minutes to siena centre and Roberto will make sure that you get around properly. Really helpful and friendly guy. He explained details about the city and local transport.
Cabs to siena will charge you around 11 each way, however you can also use the bus, which passes every half hour.

Special thanks to Roberto on helping my mom getting the taxi and for being there when we needed.
