A quiet self serviced converted farmhouse in the quaint and friendly village of Iano. Enjoy
delicious plain or chocolate croissants from the small market just steps away. Also a lovely restaurant across the road with delicious pasta and local flavors. Cinzia, the manager is a wonderful host and helpful in getting you started on your Tuscan adventure. Near to San Gimignano, Voltera we also saw Lucca, Siena, Pisa and several other Tuscan hill towns. Happy trails!
A really lovely place to stay for visiting San Gimignano/Volterra/Siena etc but also just to relax and take days out from sightseeing! Very quiet and exceptionally well-kept gardens and grounds with the most amazing views from the terrace adjoining the apartment. Cinzia is most attentive, making sure you have the best advice on places to eat etc, but she really pulled out all the stops when we had a problem due to my husband being unwell - she arranged for a prescription to be brought to the apartment the same day which was so very kind.
Having stayed in many places in Tuscany we would also recommend Iano for excellent value for money.
We had an incredible time at Podere Monache. It exceeded all expectations in every way-- such a beautiful place!
The view from the porch (or anywhere on the property was stunning. The grounds, grapevine arbor, rose garden, lawns, fish pond--everything--was so well cared for. There is a sense of being isolated but in 30 seconds you can be in the town enjoying the local residents interacting, getting delicious meals at the restaurant across the street or purchasing croissants to take back to the farmhouse for breakfast. Cinzia was wonderful in helping us settle in and learn the town. She is warm, caring and real. The stay would have been good on its own. She made it great. There were 5 of us--3 eighteen year olds and two old fogies. We all loved this experience.
Great location - in middle of village - one grocer, two restaurants and a church. So quiet and peaceful.
What I liked - pool, veranda (come balcony), sculptures, location (walk across road to restaurants), said restaurants and quietness.
Cinzia was very helpful and responsive. She helped us with advice on getting to places (e.g. Florence and Pisa) and was incredibly supportive. Wi-fi was available so that we could find out who won the AFL grand final in Melbourne Australia
Each room had double bed and enough wardrobe space.
What didn't I like - nothing!!
