We stayed in Pisa for one night before flying home from Pisa airport so wanted something cheap and near the train station. This ticked all the boxes, however the reviews left me a bit nervous about staying there.

Location ended up being perfect but the entrance to the hotel didn’t make me feel too great about being there. There seemed to be the odd unusual character around but it was totally fine.
We checked in through the day, went sightseeing (tower etc) which was 20mins walk away, enjoyed the less touristy parts of Pisa before heading back around 10pm - felt comfortable around there.
The room was fine, bathroom was new, hairdryer fine, toiletries nice. Quiet room.
The only issue was the Aircon wasn’t cool enough.
Breakfast was ok, did the job.
The ‘quirky’ decor was fine.
Staff were helpful.
Would I stay again? More than likely.

We loved this hotel. Basic rooms but they were very clean and had character. The breakfast was fantastic such a massive choice. Homemade cakes and pamna cotta. The staff were so friendly and helpful especially Alfonso and Francesca top blokes, nothing was too much trouble and they gave great advice on sightseeing.
Highly recommended wish we stayed longer!

The hotel room has a very old centralised air-conditioning system that was not working properly in this hot summer. And because of the heat outside that we could not open the window. Thank God that we managed to get an electric fan from housekeeping to cool the room.
We had a tough night to sleep.

We're thankful to the friendly and helpful gentleman who seems to be multitasking in both reception and housekeeping. He help to find an electric fan for us.

The location is just 5 mins walk to train station and most of the places of interest are reachable by walking.

We had the best receptionist ever. A very friendly lady with glasses and dark hair gave us a great welcome and Nice tips to explore the city.

The breakfast is so much better than you expect from a hotel in this price category. Highly recommend you to try this.

What an interesting establishment - from our arrival to departure it felt like travelling in time, though I am not sure into which period. On one hand, the reception area and the breakfast rooms felt a bit "noir"; on the other hand, the walls were full of pop-art imagery and other cultural references. One could expect Greta Garbo to walk-in at any moment. Our room looked dilapidated (furniture was really, really old and worn-out), and at times invited sincere laugh. Nevertheless, in spite of this, I must commend that the room *was very clean* (which is very important for us).

The hotel also sports one of the richest buffet breakfasts we have ever encountered in similar establishments: the options are wide-ranging. The hotel really does not settle on one-to-two-items-per-category (e.g. one or two types of bread, one or two types of fruits etc.), but offers more options of a single category than some other hotels offer in all categories combined. There is a push-the-button-for-two-fresh-pancakes-machine. The coffee machines bear a notice that if the guest doesn't like the coffee from the machine or the coffee distributor, one should talk to the staff which will be happy to make them a coffee per guest's desires.

The dilapidated-look of the room. (Not to be confused with cleanliness: the room was very clean.) The air-conditioner was working, but I was not able to control it, as the remote appeared to have no effect on its operation (couldn't even turn it down). No problem for a short overnight, but if we stayed longer, we would have asked the reception to fix it.
