Villa is located on a steep hill with a nice view to the surrounding Arno river valley and Florence. The building does not have air condition but it does not matter because the building has thick walls that keep it cool even on hot days. During our visit it was 32-33 in midday and the villa never felt hot, it was always on a pleasant temperature.
The Villa is really big and there are some apartments on it with people living in them. The main part of the villa was reserved for us during our visit. The Villa houses 9 with 3 double beds and 3 singles . It has several bathrooms, 5 bedrooms, living room, kitchen, dining room etc. We had 5 people in our party and we did not even use all the rooms. We felt that there was more then enough space for us all.
Villa has a sizable private walled garden with a pool. From the garden there is a view to Florence which is very nice especially in the evening.
Basic services and shops are about 3 kilometers away in Bagno a ripoli village. Closest restaurant perhaps 1,5 kilometers away. I would recommend a rental car or bike for visitors.
Our stay at the villa was perfect and we enjoyed the historical mood of the building and the beautiful sunsets over Florence at the pool.
1 review What a place, stayed here for a week and loved the place, just felt like a king for a week, not far from the city centre , car needed and a small climb up stairs to grand entrance of villa would be the only points to raise, the view the villa the pool, excellent , the owner was never far to help or advise, thoroughly recommend a stay here, you will leave wanting to go back

A wonderful house with magnificent garden. All rooms were furnished with antiques and it felt like living in a small castle. To live so close to Florence and still enjoy the peace of the garden among the fruit trees and with the lovely pool was amazing.
Stefano was incredibly helpful and made us feel welcome in the house.
We long back and plan to return as soon as possible!!

Exceeded our expectations in every way. Wonderful location - in a villa in the countryside just outside Florence - very convenient for visiting Florence but equally you are in the open country-side. Wake up to birds singing in the morning. Well connected to road network for visiting other places like Siena and San Gimignano etc as well.
Villa is very large, lots of character, comfortable, and has everything you might need, including a lovely garden - with pool AND turtles :-)
Nice walks, hikes and runs in the country-side outside the villa.
The host Stefano was fantastic and did everything to make our stay a great one, including booking us a taxi and so on.
We went as 2 families, 8 people in total, 4 adults and 4 kids. Especially wonderful for kids. As I said - turtles! Piano! Fancy chess set! Garden! Pool!
Cannot recommend enough. Just one warning - the access to the villa is a bit steep, so if you have restricted mobility, then discuss with the host in advance.
