Came in from New York yesterday. Decided to stay outside of Centro Florence as my friend Luca who lives in Fiesole would have an easier time with picking me up at this BB.
Stefano was quite gracious with info. This little BB is like your own little apartment.. You get a key and come and go.. Stefano isn't only on duty 6am to 2 pm but of course is nearby and Available by cell phone.. My room overlooks a beautiful hill in back with houses and trees .. Quiet for the city.
I would recommend this lovely little BB (only 6 rooms) in a real neighborhood of Florence ..

Good clean b&b away fro the people tráfic. You nred to walk quite a bit to the centre or take tha bus. On the way though you find lots of good eateries. The room was up 3 flights of stairs but our host Stefano was helpful with the luggage. He was also helpful with suggestions on tours etc and finding us parking for our car.

Room tip: There are only 5 to 8 rooms. some with balcony. Easy to find if driving.

The place was nice. It is located about 10 -15 min walk from the center of Florence, only 5 min from the gate to the old town. There are some good restaurants around. Leonardo was helpful. The room was ok but a bit overprice.

Overall a great experience! Clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was filling with great options of fruit yogurt cereal and bread. The coffee was great ( capuccino) !! Balconies and shared space was very spacious. One small thing is that the balconies face the busy street use the kitchen balcony for afternoon caffe or treat.

Depending from what you want from your holiday, 1900 Artevista's location was one of the highlights for us.
After reading reviews where some guests had mentioned the 'longer walk into town' I have to say, I was regretting our decision, as we drove from the airport to the guesthouse, especially as we had a baby with us, so being close to amenities was key. However, the location couldn't have been better. We were in an area of town that we probably wouldn't have visited if we hadn't stayed here, and in that case, we'd have missed out.

It's a lovely walk into town across the river. 15 minute stroll? Though there's just as much to see on this side of the river too.
Personally, I don't want to stay in the middle of tourist land. Instead we were a stone's throw from some fantastic 'less touristic' restaurants, wine bars and piazas and 1 minute from a large supermarket (great for getting our baby supplies each day!).

Back to the guesthouse - room was great - large, spotless, lovely balcony to eat the decent breakfast on in the morning and a cot was added free of charge for our baby. There is also a communal fridge.

Like everyone said, the hosts Leonardo and Stefano are lovely and go out of their way for you. You can't go wrong with this place during your stay in Florence!
