This apartment lived up to all of the photos and expectations, with a couple of very small items that many will overlook. And one not so small item- The noise level.
Let me say, the apartment is located 30 seconds walk from the Ponte Vecchio. Many fabulous places to eat and shop nearby, including a lovely grocery store just a minute's walk. Additionally, a post office practically next door and at least three ATM machines within a five-minute walk .
The apartment was immaculate. Exactly as pictured, small but certainly could accommodate two very comfortably and two couples if you don't plan on spending a lot of time in the apartment.
While the kitchen was very small, it was absolutely functional and I cooked several meals for myself during my 11-day stay. A coffee maker, a toaster and a microwave oven are provided, as well as a full oven and four-burner stove!
The bathroom is huge by European standards and seems recently remodeled. Lovely bathroom (shower only- no tub).
The noise level from inside the building was negligible. However, the external noise was often incredibly distracting. I believe this is due to its location so close to a very popular tourist attraction. Fortunately, the police did seem to disburse loud groups of immigrants, who seemed to conjugate at the end of the street. Their voices echoing loudly at night, so I was happy that the police usually broke this up before 11 PM.
Two other very small items, one can be addressed by the owner- the other is simply an FYI for anyone thinking of staying here.
It would be more comforting to a tenant if there was a deadbolt that could be utilized while one is occupying the apartment. I found it a bit unnerving that the agent had the exact same key to get into the apartment as I did. A deadbolt would be a welcome addition.
The other minor issue is that with the new commode design to save water, it seems to be a bit taller than standard. I am 5'7" and felt I was on my tippy toes while using it. So if you are shorter than that, it might be a bit less comfortable for you.
All in all, a great apartment. The landlord was responsive and spoke English well. I would definitely stay here again, but would probably bring some ear plugs next time, as I am a fairly light sleeper!
