I have just come back from a week long stay at the Villa Belvedere with my two ten year old girls and we had a fantastic time. The setting is beautiful and it is just a short walk into Florence.

The owners are very friendly and helpful and can give good advice on visiting the sights and local restaurants. It's great to be able to be in Florence during the day and then to come back to the swimming pool in the afternoon.

Generally, me and my partner tend to stay at very modern hotels, close to the action. This is not that sort of hotel. However, it does have a charm to it which I couldn't help but like. We weren't lucky enough to have a balcony or a beautiful view of Florence but we had a large room which was quiet, clean and comfortable. There's no fridge or adjustable air con, plus the tv is teeny but who goes on holiday to watch television? We visited during a heatwave and the aircon worked well. We also had access to the pool which was very much needed! There was always room on the sun loungers but remember to bring mosquito repellent. They're out in force in Florence! Breakfast was modest- a range of continental foods but you can order egg dishes (scrambled, omelettes). The location is rather far from the main city but you can walk it in 30mins (and have some lovely views to boot) or you can get a bus (36/37) from the main train station. We tended to walk into the city (as it was downhill!) and took the bus back. However the walk uphill is very good if you've stuffed yourselves with Florence food.

It's not the newest or fanciest hotel, but it has a pool, it has lovely staff/owners, and it's clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay here.

Spend about € 415 on a 3 night stay and I'm sorry to say: it was not worth the money or the time.

Free WI-FI and a swimmingpool was some of the top-priorities on my list. On our first day the internet did'nt work. On our second day the swimmingpool was closed (apparently they put to much chlorine in it..?! On a day with 29C, that sucks!) and on the third and final day.... the pool was still closed. Not what you had hoped for on your last day in Italy (on a hot summer day!!).

Don't expect to get a nice shower after a long day except if you are a "cold-water-kind-of-guy". The water supply on first floor was lacking power.

It appears to be a hotel which used to be "more". To be better… The carpets on the floor in the room have covers so you don't wear them down (!) A bit ironic.

This is NOT a **** hotel. Maximum ** (one for parking and one for a decent breakfast).

I'm sad to say but be wise and spend your money somewhere else.

My husband and I stayed here 23 years ago and brought our daughter with us this time in July 2017. We had a lovely suite with an outdoor private deck. Pool and garden area are lovely and overlook Florence. Eating area had a wall of windows overlooking garden and pool. It was lovely to come back to hotel and cool off in the pool after a hot day touring. Careful of mosquitoes in Florence however...they are voracious.

We had suite 25- excellent spacious suite with very large balcony overlooking Florence. The suite was immaculately clean and very spacious.
The pool was great after site seeing, parking excellent and Luca and his parents were very hospitable. A small problem with safe in room was rectified immediately !!!
The gentleman in the breakfast room was delightful and remembered our special orders each morning. The other men who assisted with rooms were great
It was very conveniently reached by number 11,36 37 bus from city centre and a 25 minute walk to Ponto vechio yet distant enough to be a relaxing spot. We tried all the recommended restaurants and loved them including the local gelateria. We loved the hotel and will definitely be back next year. An old world experience in a very modern Florence!!!Thank you.
