This was our second visit to this hotel. It offers clean & comfortable rooms and is good value for money. The staff at the hotel are really friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast offered a good selection of choices and was good. The hotel is well situated being only about a short walk into the city centre. We will definitely stay there again.

We booked to stay here as part of a package city break and we were pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed our stay here. It's a little, unusual hotel located a short walk away from the main sightseeing area. Some might find it dated but we would like to describe it as quaint and traditional. Its unusual as its located on the first floor in a large block of mixed occupation of residential and office use. Access is by a large staircase or very small lift and the hotel entrance is on the first floor, the rooms are very comfortable with modern bathrooms and high ceilings. Breakfast was included and was a typical continental buffet with plenty of choice. The staff were very helpful and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. We would certainly stay here again!

Stepping into the building of giglio gave me a florentine vibe. The room transformed me to florence of the past with its high ceilings, massive windows and the wooden bed. It had character and made me feel that i was really in italy. Wifi was a bit spotty in the room so the lounge is the place to be if you need uniterrupted wifi.

What i love about this hotel are
1. the breakfast spread and the handcrafted cappuccino
2. Very friendly and helpful staff - we had a vacant day and they helped us book a tour at the last minute
3. It is within walking distance to the duomo but far enough to have lots of tourists milling around the area

If i am in florence, i will definitely book this hotel again.

We have just spent 4 wonderful days in Florence, and were perfectly happy in this old but traditional building a short distance (15 minute walk) from the centre of the city. It had high ceilings. huge doors, and traditional windows with slatted shutters which kept out the heat, the noise of the road and the light - which provided comfortable nights. Clean bedding and bathroom with more than adequate hanging space in a wonderful old traditional wardrobe. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Continental breakfast with plenty of options was good. Downside : although we booked through a travel agent we were charged a "city charge" of 21 euros on leaving which was new to us having been to the city twice before! But we now understand is normal, depending on how you book.

Room Tip: Our4 room was looking over a main road into centre. The shutters eliminated any night noise, provided a dark quiet room.
