Location, location, location is only one of the many positive feedback to this lovely hotel. It is 5 mins from Academia Galleria, 7 mins from Duomo Firenze, and 15 mins from Uffizi Museum! There are good gelato places nearby (Vivoli and Carabe) and restaurants as well (Eataly, La Merenge, etc.). Despite the proximity to the attractions, it was nice and quiet on the night and we had no problems sleeping right through!

Very comfortable hotel room, nice bed and good bathtub shower! In addition, the breakfast buffet spread is fantastic and sure to get you up and ready for the day! Fruits, pastry of all sorts, mozzarella cheese, cuts of salami, etc.!

Special mention to the staff who were really friendly and provided clear and good recommendations for the day. In particular, Francesco was affable and friendly which made our trip to Florence all the more wonderful!

TIP: The hotel has a wonderful reservation service when you book which you should def take advantage of! I managed to do Academia and Duomo Museo before lunch and, cramped the Uffizi Museum in the afternoon, all in 1 day to get the museum fix out of the way!

Located in the heart of Florence, this hotel offers great prices for traditional rooms in a central location. Arriving at the hotel, we parked way up the street in the limited traffic zone and luckily the friendly and helpful staff helped us move the car and get it into a garage for a fee. Staying in the junior suite with family, the room was filled with character and was furnished very nicely. The bathrooms could use a bit of an update and the towels were more like dish towels but it served its purpose. The only critiques I have could be the fact that the A/C had a temperature limit leaving for some warm nights and a more subjective critique with the fact that workers were digging up and working on sewage pipes in front of the hotel during our stay. Overall though, the hotel was great. Good breakfast, helpful staff, tasteful and clean rooms all in the heart of Florence. 5 minutes from Duomo, 1 minute from Accademia, 1 minute from San Lorenzo, 10 minutes from Ponte Vecchio and Palazzo Vecchio.

I stayed here last week for 4 days on business. The hotel is perfectly situated, two blocks from the Piazza del Duomo and near the Accademia. It is small but has all the
facilities of a larger place, including a very good organic restaurant, Il Desco, right next door. My room was decent-sized, quiet and, most important of all in Florence in July, the air conditioning worked perfectly! The staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful, esp. in the challenging task of finding a taxi. I plan to return to Florence in August and certainly hope to be able to stay here again. Ciao!

Room Tip: Best to get a room overlooking the courtyard, although even the main street (Via Cavour seems not to be that noisy).

We spent 4 nights at Il Guelfo Bianco during our trip to Italy. It is centrally located, so it is easy to get to the main sights (all of Florence is pretty easy to access from this location). The staff was warm and friendly, and our room was spacious, had plenty of light, and was tastefully and authentically decorated. We were upgraded to a slightly larger room (I am not sure what the name of the room type was), but it afforded us more space, which was really nice for a 4 night stay. The breakfast offered each morning was plentiful, and well attended by a staff member clearing, replenishing the buffet and taking espresso orders. I would highly recommend this hotel in Florence.

Room Tip: We were in a room facing an interior courtyard, not sure if all rooms are, but it was nice to have the natural light.

The hotel was recommended to us by our best friend and she has been talking about it for years. She and her family have stayed there multiple times and will return again next time they go to Florence. We were not disappointed! The room was large and furnished with beautiful antiques and a huge armoire which made us really feel at home. The shower was the best we had in Italy, nice and hot with lots of pressure. Antonella was amazing and helped us multiple times with reservations, car information and directions to any place we wanted to go. We had heard about her for years from our friend and were so looking forward to meeting her and she was as friendly, helpful and amazing as we were told so many times. Helping us with storing our rent a car was a lifesaver!
The breakfast buffet was delicious every morning. You must try the fresh green apple juice! It was so fresh and tasty; we had never had anything like that before. The staff was always friendly and delivered a delicious cappuccino or latte every time! The restaurant was also a nice addition to the hotel. We had lunch there our first day and the local grown and farm fresh food was awesome.
The location of this hotel is perfect! You can walk almost anywhere in Florence and it is just a few doors down from the Leonardo Da Vinci Museum, which we really enjoyed. We also appreciated the smoking area in the hotel, so we didn’t have to dodge smokers at all when we were there.
Thanks to our best friend Diana and Antonella and everyone else at the Il Guelfo Bianco for an amazing stay!
