We had no idea what we were coming to in staying at Taormina. We were on a 5 week tour of Italy and chose Taormina by chance. Wow what an amazingly beautiful place. Our Hotel, well the location is perfect. The check in staff are short and not very welcoming. The rooms are small and stuffy. Don't even bother with breakfast. It wasn't ready at the designated time and it is pitiful. But the view from the terrace and the location make this hotel redeemable. It is only 3 star and I guess you get what you pay for. But seriously they could make this something very special if the staff just made more effort.

Very cramped room 10 sqm, shower 2 feet by 2 feet ( for midgets or small Italian)
Noisy aircon that can't do the job and it is only 26 degrees, wait until it gets in the 30 here. And had to pay for the privilege Euro's145 per Night. No Parking at the hotel.
The closed we got was with a Shuttle bus was 400 meters away of which was 100-yard uphill.
The best thing about this hotel is not the breakfast (below average) but a good view.
Will never ever come back to this hotel.

Room Tip: Hotel too old, forget about it.

Dear Dutch999,
we are very sorry that your stay has not been comfortable at our Hotel.
Concerning the parking issue, it's clearly stated in our web site and in all travel booking web sites that the Hotel Isabella is located on a pedestrian area, not accessible to cars (except for taxis and private transfers). The closest public parking is called Lumbi, located at 10 minutes from the center and connected to Taormina downtown by a free shuttle bus.
We hope to welcome back again in one of the Gais Hotels Group properties.
Best regards,
The Management

I would describe this as a business type hotel due to its smaller size. I gave it 4 stars cuz the staff are wonderful / friendly, accommodating. The rooms aren't fancy but have all amenities one needs- safe, refrigerator, (we had a sea view) , tv and clean. Continental breakfast nice but small on the variety of food offered. Location is great - in the heart of Taormina. Free shuttle to Caparana Resort Beach- a luxurious hotel on the Mediterranean - that apparently is their sister hotel. No parking / u must leave ur vehicle in a parking garage but their is a free shuttle every 5 m to get there. U don't need ur car as everything's in walking distance. As we spend very little time in our room, this was a good choice for us.

At this friendly hotel, you are right in the middle of where it's all happening in the old town of Taormina. Charming accommodations, helpful staff who speak English, and a generous breakfast. Would stay there again.

If your are given room 32 or those adjacent best just check into another hotel .
The rooms are very small and the bathroom not even adequate for single person use . Sharing of a communal terrace with room doors facing each other results in no privacy and interrupted rest when your neighbours open and close the motorised external shutters. Added to this is the extremely intrusive noise from your neighbours use of their bathroom in which you can hear everything and I mean everything ! Never again.

Dear NiaJ,
we are sorry for the inconvenients occurred to your stay with us.
We do have rooms with a common balcony really appreciated from families or small groups as they love to share their sparetime having a drink together or just relaxing overlooking the roofs of the old town.
We hope that you will visit us again in the next future and give us the possibility to give you new good memories.
Best regards.
