This was our last of 4 apartments , touring Sicily in May-June. The location is very good, right in the heart of Ortigia, in the old Jewish Quarter. It is a very old and atmospheric location. The apartment has been lovingly restored, with a combination of some modern features but a lot of antiques. The rooms are large, the balcony is adequate for 4 people to sit and dine . The whole area is undergoing a lot of renovation, and is I suspect changing from a rather neglected area to a very smart one. There was building work very close by which started soon after 7 in the morning - but this is obviously temporary. My only complaint was that the air conditioning was pretty ineffective - a system designed both as heating in winter and cooling
in summer. A lovely, rather quirky apartment nonetheless, which we did enjoy - and would use
again- but not in the heat of summer. Paolo the host was welcoming and very helpful.
