The airone is an uncharacteristically modern, new build hotel on the northern fringe of Catania. This is a good thing because the heart of Catania is not particularly pleasant and not such a good thing as there is not a lot going on in the area.

The hotel presents extremely well and the rooms are large, bright and fresh and include a very comfortable king size bed, large screen tv with limited channels, free non-alcoholic minibar. Wifi is also free but struggles during the day. Bathroom is modern and clean.

Breakfast is included and has all the usual continental offerings but also includes scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage.

Undercover car parking is also included and is a nice change from having to find a park on the road in Italy. The outdoor pool is also a lovely oasis to escape the city.

As noted earlier, location is good if you have a car but places for dinner are quite a walk and on Sunday night NOTHING is open in the area with the exception of a McDonald’s approx 1 km away. During the week a general store is in walking distance.

Would totally recommend if you are driving, it’s a welcome change to the drab city surrounding it.

I looked for close hotel from the airport to not drive during the night. I found this perfect palace in Catania I wish that his hotel were in everywhere in Sicily.
The room is huge also the bathroom. very clean and very pleasant stay.
The breakfast was just divine. Everything fresh and good coffee.
We just only 1 night but I wish that the all stay in Sicily was like this hotel - it was so perfect that I definitely recommend to everybody.

This hotel was just perfect. Its fairly new and everything is spotlessly clean. The rooms are huge with nice big bathrooms and beds, and a minibar with free soft drinks. The pool area was well kept and quiet. We had a few drinks in the bar which were reasonably priced and the staff will offer you a spread of breads, meats and cheeses which was really nice! The hotel is situated a couple of miles away from historic centre of Catania, but we knew that before booking and didn't mind the ~45 minute walk it took us to get there. But by far the most impressive part of our stay was the amazing staff at the hotel. Right from the moment we arrived the staff were nothing but helpful, speaking impeccable English and offering us help on a number of things, including restaurant suggestions (Quattrochiacchere was great!), Etna excursions (Etna&Sea Excursions were amazing!), and even gave me a cake for my birthday which was really sweet! Our stay couldn't have been any better, so thanks to everyone at Airone City :)

Room tip: Book through the hotel website. Premier suites seem to give you more space if you want it!

An urban boutique hotel, fine in every possible way.
Spacious rooms, perfectly clean, modern and beautiful design, great food at breakfast and above all - pleasant, welcoming and professional staff.
Staying in the hotel was a great experience not only when compared to hotels in Sicily, but to hotels around the world.
Highly recommended for couples on a romantic trip.

The hotel is immaculately clean and welcoming. We stayed here for 7 nights while exploring Mount Etna and nearby. Everything about this hotel is good. As it is a new-built hotel, it is very clean, the staff are friendly and helpful - and always up for a chat and offer advice re your holiday excursions.

We had a family room for 4-of us and it was huge - with two small balconies.

There's free parking - including an underground carpark - and, if the parking is full, staff will personally come to the underground carpark and help you 'double-park' (if you leave your car keys with them!).

Breakfast is good - with ample selection to choose from. It was refreshing to see that Almond and Soya milk are both available on the counter without having to ask!!!!

There is a small fridge in the room with free water and free soft drinks which are topped-up everyday - saves you a few Euros when you're out sightseeing!!!

The outdoor pool has built-in jacuzzi/spa as well as a power-jet.

The in-house restaurant is open throughout the day and serves snacks & bites - it is a shame that it is not very busy - as the ladies there serve nicely-made fresh sandwiches and paninis.

The hotel is situated about 3-4 kilometres from the centre of Catania - but that is a small disadvantage if you consider everything else about this hotel ('free drinks', free parking!).

I would definitely recommend this hotel...!!!!!!
