It's €16 per person to visit the island which consists of two restaurants and a couple of beach bars.

The food is good but not cheap but the scenery is amazing!
You can't climb the rock without a guide due to its protective laws but it's worth the trip. Could happily stay on the beach and swim!

Located at 20 minutes by boat from Olbia, this island is great.

Except the fact that there is not much to do besides bars, restaurants and beach, it is totally worth it. The beach is awesome and not crowded if you take the 10 minutes walk from the port to the end of the beach. I have never seen such a clear water in the sea since Jamaica.

The restaurants are a bit expensive but the sight will make you forget that.

Behind the beach, there is a path where you can walk and have a look at a no man rocky landscape

More than 40 years I have been coming to this natural area and still finding it an amazing place. Only 3 hours from London. You can still enjoy an evening at La Corona restaurant after you land at Olbia. If not late, of course.
I would suggest to get to the island in July, before the sunset and walking on the beach before a glass of cold Vermentino and Guttiau. Smell Sardinia when you walk by.
When I have Sardinia nostalgia, this is the reason why!

Loved every minute of the day we spent here; the boat trip was worth every cent. We snorkelled loads and there was quite a lot of life to see. The scenery is a delight and the beach is not too busy.

A long-time visitor to Sardinia so to find this marine reserve was an unexpected thrill. The marine reserve has the spectacular Tavolara Island in the centre. Don't worry that you can't afford your own super yatch and get a boat out to crystal clear water where the captan drops anchor and you get to jump off the sides and swim with shoals of fish. Carry on to the Island where you spend the day in unrelenting heat on the beach - you must take an umbrella at the height of summer - and the best waters in the med! There are two restaurants in case it gets too much, but as expected, they re pricing due to their location and captive audience. Don't venture in-land as it tends to be a outdoor latrine sadly as there don't appear to be toilet facilities other than at the restaurants.
